To tell you the truth, I did not even read your article. The title was enough for me to realize that you are not a christian, otherwise you would not be so blind and fooled by Bush and his policies, especially with Israel. My God and Allah are not the same. My God is a God of peace and love. Have you ever heard a muslim mention the words together in the same sentence? Do you not realize that it is because of some of Bush's policies toward Gods chosen people and the dividing of His land that some of the weather catastrophes are a result?

is this a response specifically to my post? Or is it a reiteration? (I did say I that I myself didn't pray enough for our leaders already, so I was wondering if the questions were directed to me or the readers in general). Anyway, you have a great day and God Bless!

I agree with many of the complaints mentioned. I feel Bush did not live up to the promise. I was very disappointed that there was no real attempt at a marriage amendment and his acknowledgment of Islam. I think he did some good things and was a needed clean-up from the slime the Clintons left in the White House. I pray that God protects us from Billary and Obama. The Republician party is in bad shape but what do you expect in a county of mostly lost people. There are few good candidates available.

While I am personally disappointed in many of President Bush's decisions, my personal convictions will never change, but we must always evaluate the alternative. Bro. Bush is the product of his background experience. There was a time when all of our politicians worked together to benefit the United States of America. Yes they did "bring home the bacon" to their districts, but the "bacon" was usually benefical to help bring economic growth not personal enrichment. While the President is the "head" of our government, there are thousands of federal and state officials that are just as important to the whole process. We need to grow the integrity, spiritual philosophy, and political philosophy by being active where we are before we can expect the higher offices to change.

Reiteration of my prev. post

First off, I must say I appreciate 86 TX (WWII Vet) for responding to my prev. post (somehow I can't find it now...must be a glitch cuz I did e-mail Brannon and he did not remove it). Anyway, my point again is this (for those who may have missed it): Do we, as Christians, pray for our leaders often? I ask this because I confess to rarely do so, certianly not enough as I ought. Why do I ask this? Well, many people it seems are upset with the Bush presidency (and yes, I am not thrilled with some of his positions on issues either), but I wonder if we are looking at this clearly in regards to the relation of prayer and govt. If we prayed more to God for His guidance for our leaders...what impact would this have on our nation? See, it seems that we were looking like the job was done the moment the 2004 election was over (with the GOP being still in control). No, not by a long shot. Why? THESE ARE FALLEN HUMAN BEINGS! NOT GOD! That's why. Do we expect everything to work out well the moment we have the correct people in office and that they won't stumble?? I think we need to look carefully and ask, "Can I expect, even leaders in our govt. who are Christians, to be good leaders without God's wisdom being bestowed on them?" Nope, I don't think that is a reasonable (or Biblical) option. Bush deserves the criticism, yes, but I think that if we maybe had prayed more for God moving in his heart (regardless on one's personal belief of whether he is a true Christian or a false convert) to choose the right thing that maybe the list of grievences would not be nearly as long. We can't trust FALLEN MEN to succeed 100% for godly things...and yet we seem to expect that Pres. Bush to do that. Do we do that with prayer or without? These are fallen human beings in our govt. and if we are expecting them to stand strong and hold out without prayer and fasting, we are relying on our own strength and not God's. By the way, this does not merely apply to Pres. Bush, but for all our leaders regardless of their political position. So, pray for your leaders, especially if things seem to be going the wrong direction. Also, for those who have been very upset with the Pres. and GOP, I want them to especially think this carefully over: If you haven't or rarely prayed for them, then I think the blame is partially on you for not asking the God of this Universe who knows all to enlighten and guide our leaders in wisdom and truth (by the way, I would take this blame myself, since I already have admitted that I haven't prayed enough for him). They are accountable for their actions, but then so are we. Just a thought to chew on. God Bless!! :)

How could gwb bring honor back to the white house? He'll go down in history as one of THE most incompetent, spineless embarrassments that has ever occupied the oval office. Time after time when America needed strong leadership, he failed again and again. He is the epitome of a wolf in sheeps clothing. What really upsets me and probably all of us Christian Conservatives, is that he parades around like one of us! He's not "saved". And the liberal media still complains! He lied about who he was from the start, "I don't care about polls...". I hate to say this but, true conservatism in american politics is dead.

1. He protected our country from further attack since 911.
2. He got the FBI and CIA to cooperate.
3. He is prolife
4. He and his wife set a positive example.
5. I believe he is wrong in supporting new palistine and having Israel give up land.
I believe this compromise will be a fore runner to Daniel 9:27.
I do not think he understands the ramifications of such an agreement.
His intentions are good, but it is easier to judge when you are not sitting in the oval office. Over all I rate him a B+.
I believe Islam is the greatest threat to Israel and our national security.
Many of those in office especially the libros
don't understand the threat.

It's my honor to give him an "A"

Many of the items on your list of grievances against President Bush are not accurate or are based on what is the perceived "Christian" political position. Some are based partly on rumor, (i.e. ridicule of Christians in the W.H., which has been since found to be a lie), or the wish for him to be a Christian activist. His job is to protect and defend our country, (which he does well) not to transform a SECULAR society. MacArthur's notes on II Pet.4:15 re Christian living during times of persecution says, "As a general rule, a Christian living in a non-Christian culture is to do his work faithfully, exalt Jesus Christ, and live a virtuous life, rather than try to overturn or disrupt his culture." (MacArthur Study Bible). There is a difference between exercising our PERSONAL responsibility in a democratic government and being an activist, trying to force unbelievers to live as believers are called to do, which many times draws more persecution on God's people. God doesn't ask Christians to use their "BULLY PULPIT", but to be a faithful witness. "He has shown you O Man, what is good and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly.. to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God" Micah 6:8. We must open our eyes to the fact that we live in a POST-CHRISTIAN SOCIETY and we must be wise, not act like bulls in a china shop. Do a word search in the Bible on aliens, or strangers. You will find that God expects His people to not oppress them, but treat them justly. Aside from imposing a penalty for breaking our laws, we should be careful NOT to oppress them. Think of the opened doors of witness to so many people that GOD DOES LOVE, that results from our presence in the Middle East, across the world and from the aliens' presence in our own country! Can't you see the hand of God working? I think we should be very careful before we criticize the leader that GOD'S HAND HAS PUT IN PLACE! Satan is doing his best to bring down and discredit a godly President, who is not afraid to identify himself with the name of JESUS. Remember Jesus' words, "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." Jn.15:18-19, AND because the world will hate us, (as some hate President Bush) it will become so severe that we will be delivered up to tribulation and killed, as Mt. 24:9-14 says “…and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake and then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray…. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come." MT 24:9,14
God commands us to pray for our leaders, not undermine their authority. We must pray that God will fight for us, and not expect one man, President Bush, to effectuate a national revival. That will take all of God's people praying fervently that HIS will, not OUR will would be done.

How are you governing yourself?

I've read a number of the remarks, including Brandon's and am disappointed that so many take what the news media say as gospel and/or criticize without really knowing what they are talking about. Don't you know that this is a spiritual war and those on the frontlines will be most under attack? Read Romans 13, God has put a participatory government over us. Are you involved in the process? Do you edify those who are? How is your self-control, or self-government? Do you have any broken or damaged relationships with a neighbor, someone from your church, a 'former' friend because you haven't turned the other cheek? Are you intentionally sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others so that they will follow the governing principles of our God? Think about your own need for prayer, multiply that by thousands of decisions the President has to make for millions of people and then ask if you have prayed for him, for Congress, for other leaders and for your neighbor? There is much more to being President than any of us can realize and we don't have the same information he has. The President isn't God, isn't a king and doesn't not make policy - he signs what Congress makes. He is a sinner, like me, and like you, but God has blessed us with the opportunity to live under a government that works when people are self-controlled. If we are failing, it is because as individuals we are failing. God have mercy on us.

When will Israel have the land?

I give our president an A. He has done a most difficult job, one I would not want to have to do for a billion dollars. While there are many policies with which I disagree, my agreement is not the standard of success. It is the Lord's approval that determines success. I hope that I do not presume to judge what I do not understand. As I understand Scripture, it is the Millennial Israel that will have all of the land restored. While I do not like Israel giving up any land, I am not living under constant threat of deadly violence by rocket attack, bombs, assault, etc. I believe I have to allow Israel to determine what is best for Israel in this climate and for our President to support them as he believes best.

Bush gets a F+

Bush gets a F+ on his report card. The only things that kept his grade above an F was his two appointments to the SC. He preaches the One True God of Christianity is the same god of Islam. He celebrated Islamic holy days at the White House just in order to balance his invasions of Islamic countries. He says Islam, which is an antichrist religion is a peaceful one. He appointed a homosexual to his administration and allowed him to swear on a Bible at the White House, his Secretary of State calling one of the homosexual's mother, the mother in law while Barbara his wife was in attendance. In many ways he was like Clinton. Did I mention his leader position in forcing Israel to give up more Covenant land to appease the believers in the anti-christ religion. The more I write the more I want to give him an F.

I have to plead guilty, with the one who asked how often we prayed for our leaders, as we are commanded to do as Christians.
We have strayed a long way from what our founding fathers started. Certainly, Pres. Bush has failed in some areas, but I think some critics have been overly harsh; he's been a vast improvement over the preceeding one. I was sceptical of the Iraq war at first, but when reminded of the many times we have been attacked, by 'middle-eastern males', over approximately 29 years-several of our embassies, USS Cole, Marine barracks in Beiruit, etc, I think it was justified. The radical Islamists intend to destroy us, as well as Israel.

What I think is happening among conservative Christians is that we are not learning from our past mistakes. President bush would not be in the White House, were it not for us. Many who are now crying foul, were pointing out our Christian duty to vote (for Bush) just 4 short years ago. What went wrong? "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord" Isaiah 55:8. I last voted at the polls in 1992 (for Ross Perot). Since then, I have voted on my knees, sincerely asking the Lord to fulfill his plan. I pray daily for the Lord's will to be carried out by our President. If we sincerely want to improve our country, we need to see hearts won for the Lord! To quote Hal Lindsey, "God didn't tell us to clean up the pond, He told us to fish in it!".

I Give Him a "B-" For Benefit of the Doubt

Since I am not the President of the United States or his advisor and therefore I don't have access to his classified or private conversations, I would give him the benefit of the doubt. I like that he is pro-life and against fetal stemcell research, against same-sex marriage, against tax increases, and is for a strong military and keeping terrorists on the defensive. Having said that, I wish he was stong on protecting our borders, that he would always stand up for Israel's territory, that he would not proclain Islam to be a peaceful religion, and that he would just flat denounce global warming as the hoax that it is. Buuuuuut, he has to deal with people of all beliefs and greedy ambitions, who care more for their own interests than the U.S. or its people. He hasn't done everything I've wanted him to do, but he has still done better and has been more conservative than the Democrats, who claim to support minorities while promoting abortion, which is highest among minorities and who claim to want to lower the federal deficit when their spending and earmarks on every bill shows otherwise. What can a President do when people have no morality.

I agree with this post but we must stop perpetuating the cable news "talk show" and radio talk show rhetoric about the liberal press. There is no liberal press. It's a myth perpetuated by those who are trying to deceive us into thinking only their world view is the only correct one.
The liberal press is only as liberal as their very large conservative corporate owners allow them to be. Further, when did being open minded become a bad thing?

Bush grade-- is "F" adaquate?
| Posted On: 01/26/08 03:28:20 PM |
Age 60, MN |
President Bush was warned well before 911 that we would be attacked by planes, did not even hold a meeting to discuss that warning, and then blocked an investigation into the attack. We still haven't fully investigated---why? He then attacked Iraq--which had nothing to do with terrorism or 911: a war that has killed over one half million people (according to some reports), nearly 4000 Americans, wounded around 30,0000 US and countless Iraqi's, created 2-4 million refugees, cost hundreds of billion of dollars, and nearly destroyed the Christian church in Iraq. He selected a VP that supports gay values, gave special access to a gay stripper at news conferences, and made fun of christian value voters behind closed doors. What a man!
Then he's taken the largest budget surplus in history and turned it into the largest budget deficit in history---all in only 7 short years! In the process he has helped create one of the largest transfers of wealth from the middle class to the super wealthy thru tax policies and cuts to the point where the wealthy pay a lower percentage of tax than the middle class. He wasted the good will of most of the world following 911 to where today we are the most hated nation on earth. He has adopted torture as foreign policy, rendition (arresting people anywhere in the world and holding them in secret prisions throughout the world where they are tortured), and used signing agreements to over rule the law of the land. As a Christian I pray that we may survive the last 359 days of this presidency as a nation! Rating this presidency an "F" is far too kind! Where Bush a Democrat, we would have impeached him years ago.
