Arrogance and Confidence
Posted On: 01/20/08 05:00:21 PM Age 61, MO
Assuming that the Bible is the inerrant word of God is not arrogance. Arrogance can be confused with confidence. A Christian can have confidence in the finished work of Christ on the Cross. But flaunting one's relationship with Christ would be counter productive to making disciples. "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." (Philippians 2:3). Christ requires a servant attitude from his disciples: "And He sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desireth to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all." (Mark 9:35). Christianity is definitely not arrogant. But unfortunately, many Christians have some overcoming to do when they assume a posture of moral superiority. George Cancilla
