If you're going to advocate ID than you have to accept any designer, not just a supernatural one. After all advanced aliens tinkering with our DNA, ala 2001 A Space Oddessy, would have to be given the same credence as God creating us from dust.

But wait a minute. We already have religion taught in our science classes. It's called naturalistic evolution. This is the religion of Secular Humanism.
