I still contend it's misleading. He endorsed a book written by someone who happens to belong to a group that purportedly also includes Williamson. That's still a leap to put Mclaren and Williamson on the same page, but you're right, most people won't do their research and just accept that, Yup, Williamson and Mclaren are two of a kind. Well that's a misrepresentation in an attempt to be sensationalistic and shocking. //By the way to completely discredit myself I too actually find many insightful things in Alan Jones writing.

Sir, You really need to do your homework before attacking Ingrid. Have you spent any time researching and watching The Shift movie? If so, once you visited Brian's website it should be clear that there is a definite link. The same thing is being said and promoted. Just check out the sponsors of Brian's conferences. Get your head out of the sand and you'll see that this new age globalist movement whether it is promoted by pagans or so-called Christians is nothing less than what the Bible predicts for the last days. The sad thing is that well meaning but misinformed and poorly taught people will embrace these ideas as from Jesus. No way! I am a Christian educator as well as a pastor. Last November I attended a Christian educators' conference in Orlando. I was shocked when I attended a workshop where a leader of this large Christian education organization and Christian school adoministrator was espousing the same non-sense. We are in serious trouble. This is truly a battle for truth and fidelity to Biblical, historical Christianity that transcends cultural flatulations. Only the return of the Lord Jesus Christ will truly establish what these heretics are advocating. Please wise up.

Please look here: http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/brianmclaren.htm This proves that Mr. McLaren has endorsed the works of the group of which Ms. Williamson is a part. Also, it is not dishonest to say that the two people are working toward the same goal, as they both invariably want to see the Christianity of the Bible dismantled and neutered. Please spend just a little more time thinking and less time being angry before responding next time.--Mrs. Pilgrim

This continues to fulfill what was planned long ago. In 1990 at SFSU, I sat with other future teachers in the major's core class while the prof. declared that our goal would be to destroy the old paradigm and replace it with the new paradigm, as described in our main textbook, The Aquarian Conspiracy, by Marilyn Furgeson. Now, we have professors (Chap Clark's 'Hurt' seminar)from Fuller coming into my church, and after substituting psychology and groupthink for Christianity, telling parents that the goal of our parenting is to make our children change agents, in a context that has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus or the gospel. If being a change agent refers not to evangelism, then it must be referring to this new age global transformation of planetary oneness, which opposes Jesus Christ.

The only thing misleading here is the Emergent church philosopy, epitomized by Brian McLaren, to make people think that Christianity should be some socialized utopian effort. History has shown us that every time such an effort was made, it resulted in fascist like control. The west is already being subjected to corporate fascism. All that remains is to bring the Body of Christ into subjugation. Don't fall for it. George Cancilla

And then there's the Willow Creek "Shift" student ministries conference with Brian "Everything Must Change" McLaren as the keynote speaker. http://www.willowcreek.com/shift2008/AboutShift.html SHIFT • April 9-11, 2008 Willow Creek Campus, South Barrington, IL As the world of student ministry continues to shift and change, so do the needs of those who serve students. Recognizing this, our team has designed an event that is unlike any other Student Ministries Conference we've ever hosted. Shift 2008 is about innovation: Rather than highlighting one specific model of ministry, we've invited some of the most innovative thinkers and leaders we could find and asked them to shape our experiences and discussions. Join youth leaders and students from all over the world seeking to encourage and learn from one another through conversation, interactive learning experiences, ministry training, and worship. This will be an experience unlike any other.

The video reminds me of the "shift" that came with the "modernist" movement. Man was going to create paradise by his own greatness coming into this century. But what did we get? The paradise of WW1, WW2, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, abortion, self-inflicted diseases like AIDS, etc. The serpent is obviously still telling people that "we can be like God". And he is still disguising his lies by blending them with a little truth.

You have to make a tortured, unreasonable, "leap of faith" to put these two things together - just because they both contain the word shift?? Get real - Marianne Williamson and Depak Chopra have nothing in common with Brian Mclaren theologically and you lopping them together is irresponsible and flat out misleading (dare I say lying?)//Let me see, your name is Ingrid and I know an Ingrid who is into Hinduism and reincarnation - can we really trust someone whose name is Ingrid?

Although God has always had his remnant of "seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal" the Scriptures clearly describe a time when the professing church will be led astray by a false christ. More alarming perhaps is the fact that many Christians are either unaware or uninterested. As believers in Jesus Christ we had better be thinking more than one level deep as Ingrid so aptly points out.

When these "Deep Shift" people talk about changing the world for the better, they are actually defying God's purpose which is to have all things in Christ. The carnal, earthly world will be destroyed and replaced with a new one ruled by Jesus Christ. Scripture says to "come out of her" (meaning the Babylonian Harlot world), not to get emotionally involved with trying to fix only what God can fix. To do otherwise, is to fall for the devil's age old trap: "surely we can..." George Cancilla
