I am always shocked when I agree with much of what Mr. Baldwin says since I am for more liberal than he and most people that visit this site. Yes I'm a liberal Christain. While I don't share in the attacks on gay persons, I agree that many Christains have been duped into thinking that the Republican party is "God's Party", which must make The Democratic Party Satan's Party. A local Christain radio station owner here said on the air once " people that are against President Bush are in league with Satan". There is no shortage of corruption in both parties ! Both use fear and haterd to convince people to vote their way and both turn a blind eye to serious problems. We Christains will rant and rave if Planned Parenthood gets a dime, but don't think twice about buying products from China that has forced abortion and slave labor. Both parties primary function is to ensure that the people giving them money needs are met above all other considerations. The last thing the GOP wants is to see abortion illegal and gay marriage put to rest (just as the Dems don't want to see an end to poverty and the Iraq War) because those issues draw lot's of dollars to campaign's and raise peoples fear level. Just what the debates, what has been the major conversations about?

Not just the GOP but too many Churches and Evangelical organizations. Jim Baker, Jimmy Swaggert, Singers Micheal English and Amy Grant just to name a few. Our own Church declared war on its Pastor when, among other things, he rebuked the congregation for having five couples within it getting a divirce and not one of them dought guidence from Him, the Deacons, or any of the elders prior to seeking divorce. The same goes for teens within the Church getting pregnant, members checking into rehab, or people being overcome by other vices of the world. Paul taught that one of the signs of a Holy Church was one where its members were being hated for not participating in the depravity of the world. Instead of being criticised as prudes, the godless left, all to often truthfully shouts "You do it too!"

Homosexuality seems to be going through society like a plague. But then heterosexuality seems to be equally on the demise: There is a 50 percent plus divorce rate (including professing Christians). Statistics indicate a large percentage of pre marital sex among young people. This disease has no political cure. Jesus is the only one who can fix it. Government is not immune to this plague nor any more susceptible to it. Jesus alone is the answer to these problems, and God has given human responsibility to the family to raise their children in the way in which they should go. "Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?" "Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner do evil a hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before Him. But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth no before God." (Ecclesiastes 7:13 and 8:11-13). The disciple of Christ must press evermore into Christ, thereby strengthening himself and his family, from whence the society at large will be strengthened bit by bit. George Cancilla
