It's easy to avoid "Made in China." there's "Made in Bangladesh" and "Made in Malaysia".

Thank you and Amen, Jill.
I have been to China and although I adore the people, I saw first-hand how unsanitary even their nicest restaurants were. Their standards are far below America's standards, particularily in the area of safety and sanitation, so it is only natural to expect that their exports will be sub-standard. I am certain I ate more than one cat in my travels.
Not to mention the fact that even though some of us would like to ignore the fact, China is still a Communist country. Anybody with a high school histoty class below their belt knows that communism=low, compromised, shoddy, sub-standard production. Furthermore, China was not founded on Christianity so the idea of loving thy neighbor as thyself is a foreign one to them. Particularily if that "neighbor" is a complete stranger an ocean away.
Thanks again Jill, for bringing this into the light. I pray we will see purposeful change among Christians in this country. And may I remind you all who read this to earnestly pray for the millions of lost in China. The field, I noticed, is white.
Blessings,
sarah

Your article is right on. I have pointed out in many of these posts that Christains, and all Americans, need to be more aware of economics and it's relationship to moral values. It doesn't make much sense to go crazy if any of our money goes to planned parenthood but ignore Chinese abortion policies in the name of cheap products. I'm afraid we have become so focused on gay and abortion issues that we neglect or gloss over economic issues that impact negativly on others. It is sad that American society is so focused on material wealth and getting things as cheap as possible, regardless of those people which may be impacted by our greed and worldly desires. Even sadder is when a person points those things out or questions economic injustice they are branded a commie or anti-business.
Forget political leaders doing anything, they get bribes, oh sorry contributions, from those who like cheap and slave labor. Forget controlling the borders American corporations like illegal aliens, they are cheap! Explotation, cheap wages, no controls is the American business model.

My wife and I have been trying for over 15 years to avoid buying Chinese products. Unfortunately, we have been unable to avoid it. It has been impossible to clothe our children without Chinese items unless we make all their clothing at home - including their shoes and raincoats! In many instances, we have spent the extra money in order to buy American made products.
Our original motivation for avoiding sending our dollars to support an oppressive communist regime was focused on the forced abortions, enslavement of people, and persecution of Christians. These latest events only add more evidence of the evil and corrupt nature of communism - and the lack of principle and ethics of our governmental leadership. I hope that more Americans will wake up and understand that it is their money which is funding the growing Chinese military and financial threat.
