John 6:67 Jesus said therefore unto the twelve, Would ye also go away?
John 6:68 Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
Regardless of what else happens, I know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Nothing else can satisfy my hunger for Him. My first thoughts in the morning are of Him and my last thoughts at night when I go to bed. He is my all-consuming desire.

Thank God for Christian parents! When children see that Christ is real and living in and through the parents what an impression it makes on them. I watched my mom all my life in her faithful walk with the Lord. I know she prayed for me and in answer to her prayers the Lord took one who professed to be a Christian and made him a Christian six years ago. My mom went home last year but she left me a legacy, and an example of Christ in her life that I now must pass on to my children. If our children do not see Christ in us then they will conclude we do not believe ourselves what we are telling them about Christ. If we do not live what we claim to believe then all those who see us will conclude that we do not believe in the very God that we claim to love... how can we love someone we are not willing to follow and obey?
Thanks Ingrid for this article. Don

WHAT IS FAITH

Reading the comments I was prompted to write this. FAITH NEVER SAVED ANYONE. It is not the fact that we have faith but it is WHO we put that faith in that saves us. If we put faith in Jesus to save us He surly will save us. But we can never take any pride in our faith for it is a gift from God. Everything that we have that is of any good is a gift from the Lord of Mercy. If our faith holds then we can thank Jesus that He is saving us and keeps us in the palm of His hand. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.- Peter heard Jesus quote many scriptures but did not have faith. When the Father revealed from heaven to Peter who Jesus was then Peter had faith. The faith of Peter did not come from hearing scripture( although that is a very good thing) but from hearing the Word of God or God Almighty. Lou

The Lord Jesus Christ did a work in your mom and not without result. He saved her as He will save anyone who turns to Him and trust Him and nothing else to save them. Lou

I will look unto Jesus the author and finisher of my faith who for the joy set before Him endured the cross despising the shame.May we follow in His example.
Thank you for this wonderful, positive comment. Let us keep our eyes on Jesus, not men, they will always let us down.

Amen Ingrid,
Do all the false teachers, sinning Pastors, and false converts shake my faith?
NO WAY!
It only makes me stronger in my FAITH.
It only makes me know even more, I have the REAL thing, next to all the frauds out there.
I heard a radio announcer speak about TAMMY FAYE BAKER and Jerry Fallwell.
HOW one was loved by the WORLD and one was HATED. ITS not tough for the true born again Christian to see who was of the world, and which was IN the world.
The thing happening today, that was predicted to happen, is the enemy that lies WITHIN, WITHIN what? WITHIN the church.
THOUSANDS of false feel good converts.
I can see why GOD said he will PUKE them out of his mouth, they make me want to PUKE, when they are working with the enemy against the real born again people out there.
STAY on guard, more of this is coming, with all the UNANNOINTED people who think they are called to be pastors.
Bad teaching turns out bad students.

Ingrid, what a great article! Your mom is the real thing. God's Word never changes and it's the foundation of truth. Thanks for a fantastic testimony!

I just want to say that I agree with Ingrid. My parents are also involved in ministry and I have seed both the good and the bad in the name of Christianity. I will say as she has that the faith of my parents has been very real and I have seen God provide and answer many prayers. I know that though there are many false teachers the Word of God is still true and it is the solid rock on which I stand. That is why God has commanded us to "...Study to show thyself approved unto God." "Search the Scriptures." Check out what you have heard and see with God's Word, then you can discern truth from error.
What a wonderful testimony you have written about your mother. It was a challenge to me to be the same kind of example to my children and others so they will see Jesus in me and realize that there are true Christians.

What a beautiful message;one of love and hope. It is convicting and loving and I plan to keep it to challenge myself when I tend to doubt or to focus on what is wrong in the world instead of on what our Savior has done for us. Thank you, Ingrid, for sharing this with us.
