The synoptic "gospels" were recognized as heresy when they first appeared, and basically THROWN AWAY. If you are going to establish your doctrine by digging in trash, trash will become your doctrine. Christ knew the scriptures DID NOT contain errors, because He is God. And God knows everything (see Col 2:2-3). If Christ knew the scriptures had errors, He would NOT cover them up, because He is God. And God is holy and trustworthy and righteous. God CANNOT lie (see Titus 1:2). Christ used COPIES of the scripture, and knew those copies were perfect. Christ used ALL, not just some, of the scriptures (see Luke 24:27). This shows His confidence that His words WERE preserved. Prooftext Psalm 12:6-7 to compare God's preserved Word (KJV) to other "modern" translations. The Latin Vulgate is where the perversions of the Bible began, and all perverted works originate with the texti Sinaiticus, Vaticanus, and Alexandrinus, one of which was found in a garbage pit of a monastery and revived (reviled?) to "holy" status. Research for yourself, and discover which one. Be as the Bereans, and not as the TVans!

It is the Rick Warren gospel, who even convinced Bush that Allah and the G-d of the bible was one and the same..the followers think the gospel is not important , just the heart..but G-d tells us the heart is evil, who should know it ?? The Catholic cult is sucking in the churches by the biggest lie Satan came up with, even admits the passion movie was to make them think the catholic's are the only true church, but it has the "other jesus", they aren't even concerned that John Paul bowed to Mary, and that he said nationally that when he died he had to go to purgatory for some sins and that he would go on to heaven to stand on the right hand of the father,,and then said, pray to me....I think the truth is we have ONE high Priest..that would be the L-rd and His Pardon can't be bought with good works, belonging to a church , bought or trade as there is only one way to Heaven..and many are bowing to anyone but Jesus..they have been blinded by the biggest lie of all !! Jesus is coming and the apostasy that has to come is here world wide..how sad !!!

Everything you've written has been asked and answered many, many times. The Bible does not contradict itself. Fallible men do. I wonder if you truly want to know the truth or if you're just spoiling for an internet chat fight. May the Lord illuminate the Word to you correctly.

Who wrote the Bible to promote their own agenda? Well, the main problem is that we don't really know who wrote the Bible; this is one of the major challenges facing contemporary Biblical scholarship. But we do know that there are contradictions between various books of the Bible. These contradictions tell us two things; first, that the Bible can't be absolutely true - if it were, it wouldn't contain contradictions. Therefore - although it may have been inspired by God - it wasn't always transcribed or translated correctly. Secondly, the differences that occur in the texts may reflect the desire on the part of the transcriber to emphasize different aspects of the text, or - in fact - to promote the writer's own personal bias.
Examples of differences found in the New Testament include several discrepancies between the Synoptic Gospels and the Gospel of John:
- The Jesus of the Gospels according to Luke and Mark generally speaks in brief proverbs, or in parables; the Jesus of the Gospels according to Matthew and John speaks in lengthy philosophical discourses.
- In the Synoptic Gospels, Jesus' cleansing of the Temple occurs during his final week in Jerusalem before the Crucifixion; in John, it occurs at the beginning of his ministry, several years before the crucifixion.
- In the Synoptic Gospels, Jesus is tried before the whole Sanhedrin; in John, he is subjected only to a private interview with Annas and Caiaphas.
- In the Synoptic Gospels, the Last Supper is a Passover Seder, and Jesus is executed on the first day of the Feast of the Unleavened Bread; in John, the Last Supper is not a seder, and Jesus is executed on the day of preparation, when the lambs were slaughtered for the Passover feast - the day before the one described in the Synoptic Gospels.
An even clearer example are the different genealogies given for Jesus (Matthew says the paternal grandfather of Jesus is James; Luke says the same person is Eli). If the Bible were absolutely true, they would be consistent. Why would the authors of Luke and Matthew include a genealogy that isn't correct (at most, one of them could be correct)? Because their objective (political agenda, if you will), is to show that Jesus is descended from David.
"The bible is the inspired word of God, written by godly men." ... this is, I'm afraid, where we have to disagree. Conservatives in all religions claim that their holy book, and their tradition, is the inspired and and absolute truth. An objective look at the faith literature shows this is not the case. My faith focuses on the message of Jesus; by belief is that this is where the absolute truth can be found. I would rather worship Jesus than the book that talks about him.

It sounds like churches in the 60's. It seems that when the Bible is moved away from people replace it with psychology and then the meanness sets in. Psychology says you CAN violate the ten commandments to fellow people be they christian or not.
Many people went with Democracy and civilized behavior as opposed to the socialist demand of join or you are SELFISH! which allows no room for diversity and is very charismatic along the lines of Iliych Ivanovich, and guaranteed to cause fights with people who do democracy and try to reach out. Everyone tries to analyize and not just pass the spirit. In church eye contact is passing the spirit, on the street eye contact is confrontational. So when in church I meet young people who have broken a commandment they think the eye contact is a "JUDGEMENT" and get hostile which means they are NOT of the church they attend, ergo a dilemma... of many decades duration it seems.

Can you please tell me names, of men who wrote bible for own political agenda. Also please refer me to where Jesus said God's word the bible is not the complete expression of God. The bible is the inspired word of God, written by godly men. There is no continuing revelation, unless you are referring to our increased understanding of His word. It does not matter what we call ourself, if we are not faithful to God, and His word, we are unsaved sinners, who are going to spend eternity in hell. I take the current apostasy in the church, very seriously. I see it every week at my church. Many tears have been shed over this. I did laugh out loud at this article however. If our bible were like this, hey no error, no life change. We could do exactly what most churches are already doing. Wow I could finally feel at home there. When I hear God's word twisted, and this sickening gospel of a god who just wants to love us and give us everything, I wouldn't have to get upset. I could just say "WHATEVER."

I don't even know where to begin; my mind is reeling. Your article struck a nerve for me. I used to kid people that eventually we'd all be part of the "Church of What's Happenin' Now". I guess it's not a kidding matter anymore. I live in a rural area and am shocked at the watered down "Christianity" of the local church. I see a growing movement of start-your-own-church. When a pastor has been let go from a solid Bible-believing congregation he just takes his groupies to a location where they claim to be a church. For several months I have attended one of these "churches" and it's definitely an insider's view of the rapid apostacy that is flooding the US.
The man "pastoring" this group was once known as a solid Christian but he is slowly interjecting a social or "Secret" message into his messages (if you can call them messages). The word "sin" never is spoken, I've heard him slip in "co-creator" and also "the law of attraction". The first time I looked around and wondered if I'd imagined what I'd heard but observed only happy faces. Welcome to the church of 2007. Last Sunday the "pastor" was ill so his wife said that although she wasn't comfortable with having a woman preach in the pulpit she knows that is just her OPINION. So she launched into a ten minute message (?) about ecology. The majority of the people come without Bibles and only one or two will pray aloud. It should be called a club not a church. Why am I there, especially since I've been attacked for my Biblical stand? Maybe in the belief that I can pull someone from the jaws of Hell. Hey, the Pastor doesn't seem to mind if I share the Gospel. In the "Church of What's Happenin' Now" they don't believe in being critical of others. It's all peace and love.
Yeah, right...

Interesting article. On one note you pose great resistance to liberalism while at the same time without realizing it you pose a great fear of being a united body for Jesus. I agree with you concerning the idea of "doctrine fixing" for ones own benefit. Totally wrong! But on the other hand you approach the possibility of a united body of Christians as impossible or even rediculous. I admire your will and zeal to keep God's word pure, I stand next to you completely on this topic. God's word is God's word and changing it is simply absurd. I do pray that you perhaps write an article that displays other united Christians who do follow the word of God as He intended in a brighter light. The more positive that is shed on the world, the more positive will follow. The people you speak of are the minority. Christians do want to follow the bible (dot, dot, dot) but where are the ones who are truly living it?
