The media is at least in part to blame for where we find ourselves today. Instead of reporting the positives-which I have heard numerous service men and women speak of-they only broadcast the negatives that are going on. How many people died today? That's easy information to find out. But how many people were fed today and given other type of aid...you won't hear that on the networks. They have been against our president and this administration from the start. The misinformation they continually feed the masses is not helping any cause except their own selfish one. Why? Because they want Hillary and/or Barak in the White House, more liberal Supreme Court Justices, abortion on demand, and homosexuality as the norm (among other liberal pet projects.)

Mr. Peters has made some very astute observations and I appreciate his candor. Thank you for publishing so honest and balanced an article. The real tragedy of this war politically is President Bush's failure, refusal, neglect, or whatever may be the exact truth, to seek a declaration of war. Like every President since FDR he has ignored the Constitutional standard and decided to act autonomously, almost monarchial. Korea, VietNam, all the aggressive actions in Africa, Europe and other places since WW II have been unconstitutional conflicts. One may argue that Mr. Bush needed to act swiftly and that the president does have authority to muster troops in the event of attack, etc. But there is really only one reason why Congress was not approached properly. Mr. Bush wanted a war and he was going to have it. Lee Button

Winning what? Elimination of WMD's that never were? Even if so, who are we to tell others what they can and cannot have when we ourselves have the worlds largest stockpile. Democracy? Where in Scripture are we called upon to "Liberate" the world into democracy? For that matter, where in the Bible is "The Will of the People" AKA "Democracy" Ever spoken of favorably much less called for? Where are we called upon to take control of any government and use it as out attack dog? Terrorism? Should it even be possible to "Terrorise" a Christian with the threat of physical violence? I had always thought thatChrist taught not to fear those who destroy the body but those who destroy the Spirit. So we can conclude: 1) There is no gospel of bombs & bullets where we are called upon to liberate the world into any form of government. 2) There is a name for nation who believe they are so great that it is thier duty to remake the world in thier own image by force or any other means....Evil Empires. 3) Our very own divorce rate, drug abuse rate, teen pregnany rate, and other vices indicate that we are not the "Christian nation" We would like to consider ourselves. As such, we live out the warning Peter wrote about. "Promising freedom while they themselves are slaves of depravity." It is my hope (And it appears that The Lord is doing so) That God humble us now rather than judge us later.

And just what is that job? Kicking in more doors, hog tieing more people? The military did it's job when Baghdad fell. Unfortunately, people don't like tp be occupied. We have an enemy whose method of warefare consists of forfieting the conventional war and skiping over to the resist occutation phase. The more the military "Does its job" the more people will join the ranks of the enemy.

That's too bad that you think that, because the liberal media did not start the war (or any media for that matter). It was the politicians (Bush) who took us to war. He is the one to blame for the loss.

What a nation (a people) DOES NOT possess, a nation (a people) CANNOT pass on (impart).

IF we lose this war, I would have to put the blame first and foremost on the United States liberal media. They are a real joke. Then, I'd blame the politicians. Why doesn't everyone just let the military do the job they are trained to do?

Finally a tell it like it is balanced article in brief to explain what's going on. Far less partisan than our nightly news and sound bites. I feel I now know 'how' to pray for the situation. Thank you.

How sad that modern Christianity in America is unable to shine true light on the Iraq War. Instead of taking a stand against an unjust war or war altogether as an unchristian and ungodly behavior, they seem to reject Jesus's teachings altogether and support the Iraq War for nationalistic motives. Has Christianity in this country, or should I call it by what it truly is, churchianity, become simply a rubber stamp for the hypocritical George Bush? This country does not have a "christian" government by any stretch of the imagination. We embrace all religions and atheism since 1963 and have confirmed our pagan status as a government over and over with the legal abortions of 48 million babies. The blood drips from the hands of the American government even as they condemn other countries with their hypocritical rhetoric of "freedom." Are we exporting our freedom to kill Iraqi babies and ban Bible reading and prayer in their public schools?
