It isn't just you. The bible tells us people are getting meaner and meaner. In Matthew, Jesus tells us that Christians' "agape love" for one another will grow cold, they will become offended with one another and betray one another. Wow, that is heavy! That is mean! Along with the Christians, he makes it clear that the secular world, too, is getting meaner and meaner. In I Tim 3:1-5 He says, "Know this that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, dispisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more that lovers of God: having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof; from such turn away!" Christians are not excluded from this. All that adds up to very, very, very mean people, both secular and christian, if we don't watch ourselves. We are suppose to manisfest Christ to a lost and dying world. A church's marquis recently read, " God is a very gentle God, But don't push it!" We have become a Nation of people that "push it" with God, with our friends, our authorities, etc. We are downright mean in order to get what we want instead of denying ourselves in order to please the Father. We need to all work on this. Love is kind and gentle and longsuffering etc....And they will know us by our love for one another.

When I first came to work at a small town daily, one of the first things I learned from my new colleagues was that the "church people" were the least forgiving of all if an error made it into print. That broke my heart then and it breaks my heart now. Brothers and sisters, this must not be so.

I completely agree! ^^ I know some people who will argue with a stick just to be right. We get mad at things that we should just turn the other cheek for. There's a huge difference between a godly anger, and anger at petty things, like someone calling us a bad name, or cutting us off in traffic. Just smile and keep going!
