postmodernism is, as you said, the philosophy of the age, and it will probably be the philosophy of the next several centuries until more cultural change happens. so i wonder, even the truth doesnt seem to have a place in relativistic societies, how do we as a church deal with it? how do we present absolute truth to a world that doesnt belive in absolutes. i believe that it will be done by living a holistic gospel, one where we truly seek the way that jesus lived, defying social norms, caring about the world, the poor, and the oppressed, and exempifiying the fulfillment that comes from the spirit. that is what will send messages of truth to those who dont believe in truth. think about Dr. King (i hope we are in light of tommorow). no postmodernist would claim that his incredibly selfless, loving methods sent a much stronger message to the people than any group that would rather use violence to advance their claims. living in the way Jesus did will be seen by those who may not normally believe. "do not be overcome by evil, but ovecome evil with good". postmodernism isnt going away, so we need to change our scientific, modernist way of trying to share jesus. its in our actions that the truth will be made evident.
