The famous magician and escape artist Harry Houdini in addition to being a crusading debunker of mediums and Spiritualist hoke-um was also a close personal friend of Doyle. Doyle personally told Houdini that he, Doyle, believed Harry himself to be an advanced spirit medium capable of dematerializing his body. This was how Doyle accounted for Houdini's fantastic escapes. Houdini tried to persuade Doyle otherwise but in vain. He really was more Watson than Holmes. When the alleged photos of the fairies and the little girls came out he pathetically fell for that too. It is sad how much demonic foolishness people will swallow when they reject Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Holy Bible. We must be constant in prayer for a lost world and lovingly vigilant.
