Re: Does God Care Who We Elect?

I am glad to see your article on Christians
and elected politicians. I have been pondering this recently wanting to write a commentary on our responsibilities as Christians. I would like to give two other considerations, however, in my own dilemma about the coming elections.
1. Do you vote even when there is no moral choice? In other words do we as Christians
vote the lesser of the evils anyway?
2. Look to Saul and Israel. It was not God's original plan that Israel should have a king over them but He let the people do what they desired because they were stubborn. You can see how that turned out for them from that time onward. God was to
be their all sufficient leader.
Now having said that, we are stuck with the system we have in place and in spite of man
God has tried to instill His righteous ways and governance into our own system from the foundation. Again nothing but corruption and perversion because man has perverted righteousness.
So again my question is this---if there are none that are righteous, what do we do?
As we can see Republicans have their own
corruptions and as a Christian I can no longer just sit back and tick off all Republican slots with peace in my heart.
What seemed to be black and white, right and wrong in our government now has become
bright shades of gray. I thank God that only His Word is Truth.
