You and absolutely correct. What mystifies me is why Christians like Coach and others waste so much time on this worlds organizations instead of following Jesus directives to go and teach and convert. Jesus taught that God is to be first and our focus of our daily lives and all of our efforts. We are to love and worship Him with everything. Why then do Christians do everything they can to entangle themselves into this worlds culture and politics and avoid being obedient to God? Does anyone really believe that God and Jesus will bestow a Well, done good and faithful servant compliment to any Christian political activist or operative? Does any of the teachings in the Bible tell us to leave Gods work and go to build a better political party? While we are to do the right things when faced with decisions like fighting slavery and voting for the best candidate, are we not told to have faith in God for the government He places over us and instead focus on serving God according to the Bible? Only God knows how Americas so-called Christians and Christian churches have become CINOs - Christians in name only. We need to remember that, one day, we must answer to Jesus for what we have done with our lives as compared to the directives given in the Bible.

I PERSONALLY PROBABLY SHARE ALL OF THE AUTHORS WORLD VIEW HOWEVER, I BELIEVE THIS IS A PIPE DREAM IN OUR CURRENT SYSTEM. FURTHERMORE, I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THIS TYPE SENTIMENT (WHILE UNDERSTANABLE)IS WHY SO MANY PRO-FAMILY, PRO-LIFE, FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE CANIDATES LOST TO THEIR DEMOCRATIC CHALLENGERS THIS TIME. GOOD JOB FRUSTRATED CHRISTIANS....THIS STANCE JUST ACCOMPLISHED VOTING IN MANY RPO-DEATH, HOMOSEXUAL ADVOCATES. SURE IT'S FRUSTRATING BUT WE MUSN'T THROW OUT THE BABY WITH THE BATH WATER. YES THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS WIDENED QUITE A BIT BUT THERE ARE STILL MANY GREAT GOD FEARING PEOPLE THERE THAT JUST LOST THEIR SEATS IN THE HOUSE AND SENATE TO LIBERAL DEMS WHO WILL IN NO WAY FOLLOW THE SCRIPTURES WHEN MAKING DECISIONS. YOU WILL BE HARD PRESSED TO FIND ANY DEMS THAT ARE PRO-LIFE, PRO-FAMILY (AS WE DEFINE IT)AND READY TO TAKE ON MUSLIM TERRORIST'S ON THEIR OWN TERRITORY. YES, LET'S WAKE UP BUT LET'S NOT MAKE OUR COUNTRY WORSE BY VOTING AGAINST REPUBLICANS WHEN THE ALTERNATIVE I FEAR IS FAR WORSE (WHICH WE WILL MOST LIKELY EXPERIENCE IN THE COMING 2 YEARS! (THE ALTERNATIVE THAT WAS SO SKILLFULLY ASSISTED IN GETTING ELECTED BY FRUSTRATED CHRISTIANS)

Finally, a man with a voice of prominence that has a vision, "for a people without vision soon perish." I have been active in Republican politics in Virginia for 17 years now. It is time to leave and it became ever more apparent when I recently encountered one of the flight attendants on my flight (I was the pilot) proudly sporting a Republican party lapel pin. He was homosexual. We, the grassroots activists here in Va. Beach, have been pursuing what Coach proposes for years now. I started a local conservative newspaper hoping it would facilitate this concept and provide this initiative a voice in the marketplace. What should have been a no-brainer encountered mostly a cold shoulder from the largest evangelical churches in the area. Ultimately, we failed for lack of support from the conservative, Christian community. The holy grail which we, and Coach, seem to be in pursuit of is the purity of purpose our founders espoused as they laid the foundation of America. What has become clear to me in all of my grassroots efforts is that unless we, as Americans and reformers, are willing to commit to the same sort of sacrifice that our Forefathers and mothers did, we can not expect the Almighty to bless our efforts. Scripture tells us He is a jealous God. I suspect His jealousy is for a sacrifice consistent with what He gave us through His Son. If we are to embark on the endeavor that Coach proposes we would do well to remember the closing line of the Declaration of Independence. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor. Are we ready for a similar commitment? Could this sort of thing be what Jesus was talking about when He said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God? So, where and when do we meet?

The coach's premise is that Christians are a unified block and are large enough to muscle our way into office campaigning as "the Christian candidate." Hmmm, let's ask Pat Robertson how that worked out for him.

I can't for the life of me...figure how people like you think? You want no fighting, no war. So as the enemy is barging into your house to rape your 5 year old daughter. What are you going to be doing? Sitting there, watching and praying? I suggest to you, the only thing that's going to stop this pervert, is a shot in the head. Ditto for a foreign country. You would have the enemy come across the border, and attack us, without you putting up a fight? Well, I'm a Christian, and would fight to the death, to protect my family, my home, and my country. Jesus never meant for us to lie down as sheep.

I agree with the coach's motivating premise that we must do SOMETHING. I personally have reached the point that I can no longer continue choosing the lesser of two evils and remain true to my conscience. For a long time I have been reluctant to vote for third party candidates, thinking that I would be "wasting" my vote, but I have reached the point of doing so and letting the chips fall where they may. We are going the wrong direction, what difference if it be slower or faster? I am changing direction. There must be a way to get a third party started. The Republicans started as a dark horse third party. Seems to me like a question of timing and boldness. Count me in.

I've been exposed to the Constitution Party speeches, emails, and one or two candidate debates. I like much of what I see, but for me, God's law comes first, and when I read the CP materials (see for example their mission statement), it seems that the American founding documents come first, with the Bible tacked on as an after-thought. Although the founding US documents are critical covenantal documents, they depend for their authority and coherence on God's word (all political agreements do). The successful Christian "republic" requires a deeper theonomic understanding than is now exhibited by the CP's approach, purposes, and strategy. I'll surely vote for their candidates whenever they're the best, and whenever they're the only candidate that fears YHWH. May YHWH bless them and you.

I'm moved by Dave Daubenmire's heart-appeal to Dobson and friends. To all of you who were also moved, I ask: Have you asked your candidates if they fear Yahweh, the God of the Christians? All it takes is a phone call to ask (a letter may be too late for this round of elections). If the candidate doesn't answer with a clear yes, and has rejected God's command to represent his interests per Deut 10:12&20, then he or she doesn't represent the interests of the Christian community. See also 2Chr 19:7, Ex 18:21, and 2Sam 23:3-5. If no candidate for that office on the ballot fears Yahweh, write in someone's name who you know Does fear Yahweh ... even if it's your own name. Do you even know who, among all the candidates up for office in just a few days, fears God? I have failed to make asking this simple question a priority, and I only have two weeks left for this round. But earlier this year I did have a chance to ask Senator Chuck Grassley some related questions -- see http://www.iparrot.org/z4-06.htm And by the way, when you choose your candidate, don't let your selection be motivated by fear of those who oppose the inheritance of our covenant with Yahweh, just as it's written: Deut 3:22 -- You won't fear them, because Yahweh your God will fight for you. Thanks Dave, and I'll be looking to read or hear Dr. Dobson's response. May our Lord guide his heart and the heart of all the Christian men of influence in the US.

It is the job of the church to take care of the poor and the sick not the government. I will not vote for any party that has increasing social programs as its platform...sell that big ornate brick church, meet in a tent, spend at least 1/3 of your churches money on the poor and the sick and then get back to me. As for the commandement it should be "murder" not kill. Sometimes war is necessary.

During the last election, I was (and still am) furious with the President over several issues, and considered sitting out the election - for about one nanosecond. That was all I needed to realize that Kerry would be infinitely worse. So I went to the pols and voted not so much for Bush as against Kerry. In this year's Senate race in New Mexico, we have a choice between an incumbent who supports flag burning and lies about it, and a dentist who's name I don't even remember. I'm voting for the dentist.

I left the republican party in 2004 and voted for Michael Peroutka the Constitution party canidate. I will continue to support the Constitution party as my vote will not go to the Republicans or Democrats. The problem with this party though is there are not enough canidates running and I don't feel that the party has enough national exposure. Still I sleep well at night knowing that I vote for a party that supports my values and the constituton.

I know in my heart you are correct in all you have said about Christians needing to leave the two major parties and come together to form a new party. Is Christ more popular than Hillary? Yes, without a doubt. So no more nonsense about fear of Hillary. The only people I have ever heard speak of Hillary running for president are Republicans! They only WISH she were the candidate they run against. Is it possible for true Christians to compromise with evil? No, no such compromise is possible. That is why they have been disrespected in both major parties, used by liars, and sold like cattle at a livestock auction. They are not respected because they pout and whine, but still do as they are told by their party masters. Why do you hesitate to raise Christ's banner for men and women to rally around, at a time when it is needed the most? There is no waiting for a better time, or a more opportune moment, or a better position. Like the reluctant sinner, you wait for a sign from Christ...when Jesus has already given you so many! If you are waiting for Jesus to raise his own standard, then you are lukewarm to the love of Jesus. Is your country worth saving? Maybe it is and maybe it is not. Christ did not come to save America. Christ came to save his flock from the lions and wolves that would devour them alive. Are you one of Christ's own flock, that he will protect and save?

We can not wait for one heart at a time. We must act now. If we elect a godly person, we have a much better chance of making America a fertile soil for conversion once again. New seeds of Christ will be able to be cultivated and nourished with a God fearing president and Congress working together. Hearts then will be changed in multitudes. Let us bring people to Christ by living in a country that honors God rather than one that receives judgement for her dishonor.

Dear Coach, You are right on!!! My family has come to the conclusion that we must vote as if we will stand before God Almighty and be accountable for that vote. No more voting for the lesser of two evils or casting a vote just so we can keep the other party from winning. Each American needs to vote as if they will explain their vote to the Lord. The Lord has never asked me to compromise. He is very clear on all issues. Would he compromise His vote? My family has been waiting for the Republicans that we have traditionally voted straight ticket for to make some changes in favor of the Bible and our God but we have yet to see anything! They have had their chance and the only way they will get our vote again is to truly put a God fearing person in the race, not just one that gives lip service. Your ideas are good and you represent the feelings of many more than you can imagine. I'll pass your idea around to all I know. God can do it-we can not underestimate Him! He is waiting for those called by His Name to repent and turn from their wicked ways so He can hear from heaven and heal our land. Let it begin with me! Thank you

Dear Coach, Thank you for your courage and ingenuity. I believe that there may be a time for conservatives to consider this course of action. However, looking back through even recent history, the Republican party has never been an exclusive Christian party. Even during the presidency of my hero, Ronald Reagan, his own wife was consulting an astrologer in the White House. Along with the abortion and gay rights issues that you brought up, I believe that we must also consider other important issues as well, current issues such as America's sovereignty, securing our borders, protecting us from Islamic fascism, and pushing back against the move to a global economy. And many Republican legislators are doing a fabulous job of voting in a Godly way on all of these issues. While I am not yet ready to abandon the Republican party due to a few bad apples, I also don't want to give them the message that they can take my vote for granted.

Reading these comments proves that Coach Daubenmire's proposition, noble as it is, is completely unworkable. Christians are divided!! Not only do we have 30,000 plus denominations which divide us on biblical beliefs, politically we are also all over the place. If we aren't unified in our faith, how can we possible be unified any other way? There is no such thing as a "Christian party", there is only the Body of Christ.
