Salt and Light

We are called to be lights in a dark world. We are called to be salt and light. Paul said we are to be all things to all men that we may by all means save some. If patriotism can be used to this end, have at it. But make sure that you don't make this world your first priority because our citizenship is in heaven, not here on earth. Anyone who is expecting a utopia on this planet and in this lifetime is in for a severe attitude adjustment. We must face the fact that the America of today is not the America of yesteryear and it is not coming back. The Bible says that evil men and seducers will wax worse and worse. You can figure it out from there.

Has Kirk embraced Reformed Theology?

The first red flag is that he is sitting with Glen Beck in agreement; 2 Cor. 6:14 immediately comes to mind. Judging by his comments in the video, it would seem that Kirk may have embraced Reformed eschatology and abandoned the biblical doctrines of the Rapture and the imminent return of our Lord which is ironic, considering he was the main character in the Left Behind movies. Kirk seems to imply that if you believe that the rapture and Christ's return is part of God's plan then you are basically part of the problem. While it is understandable that he has "kids in this world" and he "wants a great future for them" (and what loving parent wouldn't), the reality is that the Bible tells us that sin will grow worse and worse as the day draws closer to our LORD's return. Kirk asks "should we just let it [the future] go?" The truth is, we haven't let it go; the future has always been in God's hands. Kirk also states that if we "just take our hands off the wheel and let it fall off the cliff, aren't we creating a self-fulfilling prophecy?" No. God has had a hold of the wheel from the beginning and has told us ahead of time how the end times will unfold and there is nothing we can do to change it. In another statement, Kirk laments that history has shown that if we don't do anything, a tyrant will arise to take over and yet that is exactly what the Bible predicts will happen in the last days before Christ's return and his name is the Antichrist. You cannot force a pagan culture to be a Christian one by reforming it and we're not supposed to; Christ and the apostles never taught that we are to reform the culture in which we live. They certainly didn't try to reform Rome and that was more of a pagan culture than America. Instead, our mandate as believers is to PREACH THE GOSPEL, in season and out of season. Kirk states that the soul of the nation is sick; yes it is; it is sick with SIN but the biblical solution to sin is not reformation but transformation! And that only happens when an individual believes the gospel and is born-again by the Spirit of God. On a final note, it was interesting that Kirk mentioned the founding fathers had a 500 year plan; Doug Phillips and Geoff Botkin of Vision Forum promote a 200 year plan to 'take back' America. They call themselves Christian Reconstructionists and promote Dominion and Replacement theology. Kirk has spent time with these men at the SAICFF (San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival). Is it possible they had an influence on the way he now thinks eschatalogically? God bless you Brannon; keep standing firm for the faith once delivered. Our Salvation does not entitle us to the America we had

I have been saying this for a while now. We American Christians need to unyoke our patriotism from our Christianity because they have become too enmeshed. Sometimes I wonder if we haven't convinced ourselves that the U.S. Constitution is a chapter out of the Bible or something. When Christian Americans become more concerned with saving souls than saving the privileged way of life we have had, then perhaps the rest would take care of itself, but I wouldn't count on it even then, because clearly for the world to eventually be divided into 10 power zones-the ten toes of Daniel- there can be no more superpowers. America is not mentioned in prophecy. We can only conclude that it is inevitable the US will fall. Kirk is presumptious in the clip when he says he has kids and friends whose kids "have a future here". None of us are promised tomorrow. He is discounting the imminent rapture althogether in that one statement alone. I think that this move does constitute a compromise on Kirk's part. What's next? The Howard Stern radio show? Why not? He has a huge audience as well.

Watch the CONTRAST in Psalm 12. Even the Godly men – are NOT Godly all the time. Men CANNOT be trusted as the Psalm explains. Only the Word can be trusted that was purified “7” times. God’s Word, the KJ Bible, took 7 years to translate and get published in 1611. Communism did not forcefully take away God’s Word – but we are freely giving it up as people buy Satan’s lies that the NEW versions are all the same. Even the Bishop’s Bible was very close to the King James, but the KJV was preferred after publication because God was in it. But the NEW Versions – have DRAMATIC, DAMNABLE change and DELESIONS. If God gave His Word – He is ABLE to PRESERVE His Word, Ps. 12:6, 7. It will never leave the heart of a True Christian in memorization, which the new versions have halted. Notice the ones who are “falling away” from Truth – are using the NEW Bible Versions. DANGER AHEAD – and take heed for DELUSION, 2 Thess. 2:11 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." For all Kirk's good intentions his movie will change nothing, The Bible says that things will get worse and worse in the last days. We need to worry about lost souls rather than trying to change society.

Very sad, but true to the error of men and their best laid plan, Men like Kirk, Glen and ao may others, miss the main point of what is needed is Jesus, not better plans, but better men and women following the Word , following the Bible and the simple plan of Salvation.

Kirk's apparent underlying criticism of Christians in American doing little to nothing to stop the decline of morals, values, etc. should have been measured against God's Word on how we must live and "BE" as believers...and that is that God gave man to be "good stewards" of God's Creation... so for Christians to sit back and do nothing is tantamount to telling God "Woe is me, I can't make a difference... I'm too weak...or, I'm but one persons." Well, it took the coordinated effort of one socialist/Statist to start turning the wheels of change for our government leaders to degrade and devalue our Constitution, so each Christian and freedom loving American MUST take action to turn it around through active participation whether it is in blogging comments, praying, joining a conservative Christian activist organization, voting, et al. Don't talk about it... do something beneficial.

Bottom line is: On Christ the Solid Rock we are to stand all other ground is sinking sand. Yeshua (Jesus) did the will of His Father as we also are to do. Yeshua never got involved in politics when He walked the earth. He didnot compromise the truth of His Father's Word which was only what the church calls the Old Testament. The New Testament was not written as of yet. In John 14:15 Yeshua said, "If you love me you will keep my commands" referring to His Fathers Word. WE MUST NOT COMPROMISE with the World, We must further the Gospel Message...Period Dot

They forget that man can not fix what the problem is. The problem is in the heart of man and it can only be change by God through the Gospel. Morality can not be legislated, it must come from the heart and in Christ alone is our hope.
