"President Barack Hussein Obama studied Saul Alinsky and taught about him for several years at the Saul Alinsky Institute," said Brannon Howse, an author and expert on Alinsky.

"Change," the word used in President Obama's election campaign slogan, is found frequently in the Alinsky book.

"By change, Saul Alinsky means a revolution," Howse said. "Alinsky said we need to have a Socialist, Communist revolution. We need to do away with private property, free enterprise, free market, capitalism. But we do it over time, by penetrating every institution and changing their worldview."

And, if opposition arises, the eleventh rule in Alinsky's primer for radicals calls on them to "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it . . .," a common practice of the current administration.

"You see that happening today where the [Obama] administration is going after people that disagree with them," Howse said. "You have the former Transportation Security Administration nominee . . . saying that the big threat to America is people who are anti-abortion and anti-government." In other words, "people who are pro-life and who are conservative and are not for big government" pose the greatest threat to America.

Alinsky also calls for radicals to defend their agenda by ridiculing the opposition.

"Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule," Alinsky writes. "Also, it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage."

"Who did they use this tactic against? Well, Sarah Palin," author and national speaker William J. Federer said on the broadcast. "Here she is immensely popular, probably one of the most popular modern political figures, and they have taken this attitude of singling out and trying to ridicule her."

In his book, Radical Rulers: The White House Elites Who are Pushing America Toward Socialism, Robert Knight, Coral Ridge Ministries' Washington, D.C., correspondent, writes that Alinsky's primer "is all about using deception, manipulation, and raw power to bring about a communist future."

"It is amazing to think that such an influential book as Rules for Radicals has gone on to shape the thinking and values of some of the key players in our government today," Knight said.

Tyranny of the masses Posted On: 02/19/10 02:50:15 PM Age 57, CANADA All this (especially ridicule rather than debate) reminds me of many significant references; not the least of which is in John 3:20 where we are told that those who do evil fear the light because it will expose the true, and evil, nature of their deeds. There is also a reference in the concluding pages of the Alcoholics Anonymous Basic Text about contempt prior to investigation and how it cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance. This from AA who came about when medical people tried psychiatry on alcoholics with very limited success until AA brought God into recovery and stressed the need for the alcoholic to do his/her share of the work and succeeded in so many cases which medical professionals had deemed hopeless. So, we have a government inspired by an "activist" who advises not dispute another's logic but, to ridicule it, as if they fear the facts. As if they fear the light. Ridicule is not only powerful - it is easy; too easy too quick. As if I could go into an art gallery with a knife and prove that I am a more talented painter than the grand masters by slashing their paintings in a fraction of the time it took these masters to create them. God gave us healthy rules on how to accept His Holy Spirit and, by following his rules (such as the Ten Commandmentments and to live in the light rather than the darkness) to grow to be healthy not just in body and in mind, but also in spirit. Is this a part of God's end time plans or can we change anything just talking about it. The news media is not reporting the truth about Obama and people tend to believe what the main stream media report. We have raised up a generation that I do not recognize and although I put my trust and faith in the Lord I don't think many do. Maybe they do not know Him. If they did Obama would not be in the White House. The Church has more of the world in it than the world has of the church in it. Obama plays to the poor and middle class because there are more of them and they have blinders on. What can we do? Even the Nea now has it on their Recommended reading list. Come on folks, start finding out who is on your local school board and what their world views are. We have to care more about them than Duncan and Jennings. Pray for Christian teachers and administrators in the public education arena.
