Wisdom, Warnings, and Answers

I received an e - mail not long ago complaining about what I have been saying about President Obama and the increase in government power. The e - mail said "You complain a lot but never give answers. We need answers." I thought about the e - mail and asked myself if that were true. If you read my book "Wake Up And Smell The Truth," you will see I have given answers to our national problems. I have also written much about my philosophical positions on the matter. I have the unenviable position of being a prophetic voice to my community and country. Throughout history God has had many men that he used to speak warning. As a minister of the gospel I must speak warning as well as give answers to societal problems. It is not that I have not given answers. It is rather that the answers I have given have been largely rejected by people with an ever increasing hostility to biblical truth, and history's lessons. Speaking truth always makes one a target of those who refuse to hear it.
I talk a lot about my distrust of government because our nation was founded with the understanding that government has a mind of its own and strives to take power from the people.
One must never put his trust in the government for his own safety, nor the safety of his family. It is not in the nature of government to regard its citizens as more important than itself. Government when limited by the original Constitution of the United States of American can be a blessing. However, without the principled citizenry taking responsibility for it, all government leads to tyranny.
That is what history teaches us and no matter how it is cloaked, it always leads that way. It is the very nature of government to grab more power and centralize it creating an elite class. It makes no difference who the leader of government is, that leader looks for expansion of government power. They may or may not have good motivations. It simply makes no difference if their motivations are good. Socialism does not work to satisfy the principles of liberty. Big government centralized power is anathema to the principles of true freedom. The reason for that is because government is made up of people. People in general have a tendency to be motivated by self interest. This is why so many go to Washington D.C. with good intentions and once there get caught up in the system that perpetuates their own pride and desire for self gain. The denial of one's evil propensities creates the highest form arrogance. It is in this denial that men and women deceive themselves into blaming all others for their own evil actions. One must always contemplate his own sinful desires, and attempt to temper them with the knowledge of God. This however is the problem with our modern post Christian culture. This culture has denied the need for biblical wisdom and has turned even more to the worship of human reason and ideas to "fix" our problems. A man who cannot see the powerful deception of his own human nature is destined for failure in the end. The end of unbridled human nature is licentious corrupt power. The power of a man, who deems himself purposely, or by self-deceit to be his own God, will ultimately lead to his undoing. Even the Christian must always remember that his born human nature is to sin, and must be continually fought against in order to see prosperity of life. It takes but a moment with guard down to be struck by one's own evil wishes.
President Obama is a committed socialist. He is working to nationalize huge amounts of our economic system. If you do not believe that, you either have no idea what socialism is, or you simply are in denial. Either way, socialism is the great hoax that continues to deceive those who have no desire to understand human nature, nor the history of human nature. It is not that most who fall for its deception desire what history teaches is its end. For its end is always tyranny. It is rather the same temptation to get something for nothing that continues to imprison the uninformed. Socialism takes, and takes, and takes. It is an evil monster waiting for every opportunity to pounce and centralize power.
When the Constitution limits the power of government, it does so because our founders understood the tyrannical nature of centralized power. Socialism takes property. The right to be secure in ones property is a basic right of all people. Without ownership one is reduced to a slave of the tyrants. No system of government benevolence can take the place of this right. To violate an individual's right to be secure in his property is to subjugate him under aristocracy no matter what the aristocrats are called.
What we have now is a President that is a "Rock Star" (at least he is now, that may change). Along with President Obama, and his socialist cohorts in government, there is a willing media
That I would call the forth branch of Obama's government. It is the propaganda branch. The free press is supposed to be free so it examines the powerful and gives opportunity to hear free political and religious opinions. No freedom can be preserved without the power to examine the powerful. The press that is free of government control is the means of accountability for the powerful. Having said that, when the press itself becomes enamored with the power it is supposed to keep accountable, it becomes a vessel of tyranny. The press must resolve come back its responsibility; to report accurately must trump its desire to eat at the table of the powerful.
So I have given again the warning and now I will give the answers again. The answers I give will most likely not be received however here they are.
What do we do about the economy?
We cut government spending across the board by 10% below last year's budget. This includes a freeze at that point with no increases in entitlement spending. We then repeal the prescription drug program, and every entitlement program expansion that has been made over the last 20 years. We repeal the so called "stimulus package" immediately and allow every bad business to fail on its own. Those that fail and have some good assets will be bought by other businesses that are in good shape.
We send a clear message that this country is open for business by getting rid of the income tax and replacing it with a national sales tax with a limited percentage by Constitutional amendment (We repeal the income tax amendment). We repeal all capital gains taxes, and business taxes.
Since long term prosperity includes the need for good education, we close the department of education which has done nothing to increase education in this country. Since its inception under President Carter, education has continued to decline.
We must realize that using the government to prop up failure in business and education is a destructive road we have traveled on for far too long.
What do we do about our social problems?
We return to common sense and allow people to experience failures and successes. We return to personal responsibility and stop making excuses for every destructive social behavior. There must be an end to political correctness. Enough is enough!
Parental rights must be respected, and people must be held accountable for their actions. Parents must be given a choice for education so they may decide where their kids go to school (not the government or the National Education Association).
Ultimately we must return to our Christian heritage world view in order to capture our former greatness. I am not advocating anyone be forced to believe and return. I am simply expressing that without the basic principles that we were founded on there can be no America as we have known it. The principles of American liberty are directly connected to the biblical principles of liberty. Without that connection there can be no America. I leave you with the words of the man who knew what we were founded on more than anyone:
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." -John Adams
