Worldview Matters with Brannon Howse
Brannon's guest is John Loeffler. John begins by describing how progressive socialists believe in the perfectibility of mankind. They feel we’re getting better but when you look at the amount of violence in the world this just isn’t the case. This is Darwinian evolution applied to society and includes the dialectical (thesis-antithesis-synthesis) ideas that some churches are embracing today. These ideas are really old concepts that have been repackaged so that some of them even sound as though they are Christian. They are part of a process of deception designed to move people to a predetermined outcome that most people aren’t aware of. From here the conversation moves to the late Peter Drucker. He mentored Pastor Rick Warren who is known for his “felt needs” method of church growth. Brannon also explains how the seeker friendly church movement has set up the conflict between sound theology and man centered theology in order to move Christians to the left. This is just a brief look at some of the points mentioned as Brannon and John examine the pressures that are being put upon all of us to compromise our values in order to accommodate societal evolution.

Understanding The Times with Jan Markell
Prophecy Really Does Matter
Jim Fletcher and Jan dialogue about the importance of Bible prophecy in spite of the fact that it has fallen from favor. Why has most of the church abandoned the topic as well as favor for Israel? The Palestinian cause is now more prominent than support for Israel and the Jewish people. It does not help to have prominent false teachers such as Brian McLaren, Emergent guru, bashing Israel and eschatology. The so-called "Bible Answerman," Hank Hannegraaff, has also caused wreckage as well as his frequent guest, Stephen Sizer. Not only is Israel shunned -- her friends are as well.

Running to Win with Dr. Erwin Lutzer
There are times to feast, holiday times, times of celebration. But in the plan of God, there are also times to fast. Some of the tough laps in life’s race require the spiritual discipline of fasting. We see this in Jesus’ own 40-day example in the wilderness. Fasting means avoiding food altogether. That’s what Jesus needed. Could it be what you need as well?

Worldview Matters with Brannon Howse
Topic One: Federal government workers average compensation is double of private sector workers. Has Obama's economic plans destroy free-market capitalism in the United States of America; the ruling class grows more powerful. Topic Two: Citrus Tea Party group breaks ties with candidate. Many believe this is another example of a liberal progressive penetrating the Tea Party movement. Topic Three: Leaked Justice Department memo shows Obama may be planning to use executive power to make illegal aliens legal residents and thus voters. Topic Four: Listen to what is included in the next stimulus bill. Topic Five: Islamic Centers being built in Nashville and Memphis. These are huge Islamic Centers and foxnews.com has a five page article on some of the reported extremists involved in these centers including Sheikh Yasir Qadhi. Qadhi gave a speech in 2001 and referred to the Holocaust as "false propaganda". It has been discovered that Qadhi's institute has on its list of alumni "underwear bomber" Umar Farouk Adbulmutallah and reportedly includes terrorist Daniel Madlonado, also known as Daniel Aljughaifi. Topic Six: Pastor Stone in Memphis has his church across the street from this Islamic Center and is letting them use his water so they can mix cement; he lets them use his parking lot and has offered them use of his church for events or programs. I think pastor Stone must have rocks for brains when he says, "Muslim people are kind of like Christian people, they're all over the board politically, socially, religiously, you know they all take the name Muslim but they're very different kinds of people, and I just would say don't judge a whole faith or a particular expression of it by some people you may have heard about and don't even really know." You keep telling yourself Pastor Stone. There are ignorant Christians that actually think the whole 9-11 terrorist attacks could have been prevented if we just understood each other more. Topic Seven: Humanists believe that Christians will usher in a theocracy but the reality is, ignorant evangelicals and the religious left may help usher in an Islamic theocracy. Topic Eight: We take your calls.

Brannon showed how the Republican Party is being infiltrated by “progressives” and their ideas by presenting details on the following topics:
--Lindsey Graham says the Golden Rule moved him to nominate Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court.
--Activists say that progressive impostors are infiltrating the Tea Party.
--The U.S. Senate voted to send a message to Texas that it had better “get in line”, after the state said “no” to education funding and unemployment insurance that would have carried federal “strings”. Texas was also defiant in regard to federal government interference to traditional state authority to regulate oil and gas exploration.
--The Hegelian dialectic (also known as “The Third Way”) and how it’s playing out in our government today.

Religions Unite to Save the Planet
Carl Teichrib is Jan's guest. He was an "observer" at the "G8 World Religions Summit" in Winnipeg in late June. Even evangelicals gathered there to praise "mother earth," invoke spirits, and focus on "social justice." The formation of the "one-world religion" is shaping up, although none of the participants see it. Teichrib gives stunning illustrations of the unity around paganism he observed. Even humanism was celebrated at the event. This is more proof that the hour is late and the end-time players are aligning.

Running to Win with Dr. Erwin Lutzer
Many of us don’t think twice about grabbing a Big Mac, large fries and a Coke at lunchtime. After all, when hungry, eat! But in God’s rules for the race of life, there are times to bypass the Golden Arches, and even bypass food altogether. Have you ever fasted for several days to deepen your prayer life? Before you say “you’ve got to be kidding,” listen with us.

Worldview Matters with Brannon Howse
Sheriff Tony DeMeo of Nye County, Nevada stands up to the federal government and defends the state and U.S. Constitution. This is a Sheriff that understands the state and federal Constitutions and teaches it to his deputies. We need more Sheriffs like Sheriff DeMeo. Starting in 1991, the federal government was trying to seize the cattle of a rancher so they could then justify taking his water rights. When Sheriff DeMeo took office in 2003, he told his deputies that illegal cattle seizures were prohibited and that any federal agents attempting to confiscate cattle would be arrested. Shortly after this the Bureau of Land Management arrived at the ranch owned by the Hage family to perform a seizure. The Sheriff’s Deputy told the federal agents that there would be no seizure or taking of cattle as it would be unconstitutional. The Deputy was told that the BLM federal agents intended to arrest DeMeo and use armed force to take Hage’s cattle. Sheriff DeMeo advised the federal agent that their SWAT team would be faced with Sheriff DeMeo’s SWAT team if they proceeded. Sheriff DeMeo also said he would arrest any federal agent trying to enforce any unlawful, unconstitutional order. Hear the Sheriff in his own words.

Ingrid reviewed some news headlines from this week that show how our civilization is losing its historical and moral anchors.
--The ruling on Wednesday, August 4 by United States District Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker that California’s Proposition Eight, defining one-man one-woman marriage in the state's constitution, is unconstitutional
--The confirmation by the U.S. Senate on Thursday, August 5 of Alena Kagen to be the next justice on the United States Supreme Court
--The city of Camden, NJ considering the permanent closing of their remaining three public libraries due to lack of finances
On this third matter, Ingrid says that the closing of libraries portends an abandonment of the preservation of knowledge. Even more disturbing than lack of finances causing library closings, is the disintegration of existing libraries in recent years, as they have increasingly featured transcendent fluff, including pornography, while classical literature is becoming rarer, and moral literature, especially Bible-based books, are being removed.
Ingrid says that as public collections of classic literature are dismantled, it may be up to individuals and families to acquire them for preservation and reading at home.
Callers then commented on these and other stories in an open forum.
