  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 15
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” While dying, Jesus asks God to pardon His enemies. Extending forgiveness to someone who offends you is one thing. But forgiving your executioners is far different. Here the Son of God exhibits the heart of God in stark clarity. Can any of us comprehend this kind of compassion?

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 12
Hidden in the counsels of God are all the reasons why He sent Jesus to the cross. Christ’s wounds paid a great debt and the Bible associates those wounds with our healing in Isaiah chapter 53. Seeing such love, we stand in reverence, wonder, and worship, we long to know how we can rightly respond to a God who would go so far to restore us to Himself.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 11
The cross of Christ is the central event in all of history. That amazing sacrifice is what makes salvation possible. We will never plumb the depths of God’s love as shown on that fateful day. But we must come to grips with all that happened on that cross. Let’s begin by experiencing the seven cries Jesus uttered before giving up His spirit.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 10
Every day the newspapers carry fresh obituaries….reminding us that one day our names will appear there as well. Death, that’s everyone’s unavoidable fate, the legacy of the first sin committed by Adam and Eve. But believers cling to the promise of Jesus, “I am the resurrection and the life…he that believes in me, though he may die, he shall live.”

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 9
It is still a peaceful place, as pilgrims meditate on the great transaction that took place here in an ancient garden. Gethsemane lies on the Mount of Olives facing the Old City of Jerusalem. Jesus spent a night in agonized prayer here before being nailed to a cross outside the city wall. His task: to drink the cup of suffering for you and for me. What does this mean?

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 5
Small group meetings are very meaningful. But a long time ago there was one small group meeting that has no equal. Atop a high mountain, a glorified Jesus appeared along with Moses and Elijah in the presence of Peter, James and John. Now that’s a memorable meeting. Today we will learn the significance of those who gathered that momentous day.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 4
It was on a mountaintop, perhaps Israel’s Mount Tabor. Jesus gave three of His disciples a blinding vision of the future. Here, Moses and Elijah appeared with Christ, symbolizing Jesus as the fulfillment of both the law and the prophets. God’s voice thundered from the cloud, and the experience was so powerful that Peter wrote of it years later as being “on the Holy Mountain.”

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 3
Some believers feel they have ruined their Christian lives by making agreements with Satan. Is this really possible? Can Satan bind a child of God? Can a Christian sell his or her soul to the devil? Today, some frank talk about the limits God has set on Satan’s domain, and why the victory of Christ is complete, as we learn from Matthew chapter 12.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 2
When you’ve set out to attack someone verbally, and then find yourself out-reasoned, all you may have left is pure rage. That was the case when the Pharisees accused Jesus of casting out demons using Satan’s power. Jesus replied, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” That left them speechless, and plotting to destroy Him. Today we watch as the tide of opinion turns against Jesus.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: March 1
In Old Testament times, people would connect sickness with personal sin. We now know that this connection is not always accurate, but Jesus used that common perception in healing a paralyzed man, beginning by forgiving his sins, and thus infuriating the nearby Jewish scribes. Today: a look at a great miracle, and the testimony it bears about the Son of God.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: February 26
What exactly is a miracle? C.S. Lewis defined a miracle as “an interference with nature by a supernatural power.” The miracles of Jesus were clear, public, long-lasting, and not in dispute, even by His enemies. Those miracles testify to His being the Son of God, and were performed not to amaze, but rather, to teach. In this message we take a look at one of those dramatic miracles.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: February 25
Many people work their entire lives, hoping that someday they will have a higher calling than the drudgery of a daily job. When Jesus called Simon and Andrew away from their fishing nets, He said they’d become fishers of men. For these two, that higher calling meant leaving their boats behind. Do we hear the higher calling of Christ? Are we willing to pay the price to follow it?

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: February 24
Would you leave a lifetime job and head into the financial unknown if a man walked up to you and said, “Come and follow Me?” The call of Jesus to those who became his disciples was clear and unambiguous. And their response was to immediately leave their nets behind. Are we as quick to heed the call of Christ? If not, perhaps today’s broadcast is tailor-made for each of us.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: February 23
“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,” people say. Many of us seek immediate gain rather than long-term benefit. Some of us want our comforts and happiness more than we want to do the will of God. By denying Himself for forty days in the wilderness, Jesus showed us that there is a higher purpose in life than feeling good and getting what we want.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: February 22
When you travel east from Jerusalem you find yourself in a barren wilderness. Rocks are everywhere water is scarce. It was here that Jesus was led by the Spirit to be tempted by Satan. Weakened by hunger and thirst, the Son of God faced His enemy, and taught us how to face that same enemy. In this message we will trace the story of forty tough days in the life of Christ.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: February 19
When Jesus sought out John to be baptized in the river Jordan, He was creating a picture for all who would follow Him. That picture was one that predicted His coming atoning death and God’s power in bringing Him back from the grave. Baptism is a public display of our belief in a life after death. Here are a few lessons we can take home from the baptism of Christ.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: February 18
Without political power or military assets, Jesus altered the direction of history, pleasing God by living a perfect life. God’s approval was clear when a voice thundered from heaven, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” This took place on the occasion of Jesus’ baptism in the river Jordan. In this message we take a look at that baptism, and what it means.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: February 17
“For without faith it is impossible to please God.” This Bible verse is the key to seeing victory when all seems lost. Living in triumph means knowing that nothing can separate you from the love of God, not even death or the death of someone close to you. Only the Christian can face the worst life has to offer and know it is but a steppingstone to a glory that will never end.

  Dr. Erwin Lutzer: February 16
The words the Apostle Paul used to conclude Romans chapter eight are among the most soaring words ever penned. Here he lists all the things that cannot separate us from the love of God. If you’re a believer who’s treading some deep water right now, and you need some encouragement, you’ve come to the right place.
