(Program #30) Usama Dakdok reveals the dangers of interfaith dialogues by playing the audio of the interfaith dialogue between James White and Jihadi Yasir-Qadhi. Usama will start and stop the audio as he provides commentary and uses this as a opportunity to refute the misinformation with truth.

A central commandment of the Law of God is the prohibition against taking innocent life. Yet hundreds of people are killed every year in each of our major cities. Life is cheap, and gets cheaper when convicted killers never pay the price God commanded.

Dr. Les Ollila is the founder and director of Building Great Leaders. He's a former pastor, staff evangelist and former president of what was then known as Northland Baptist Bible College. He's also a member of the board of directors of VCY America.

There are Christians who believe that if they are faithful to the Lord, faithful in church, having a daily quiet time and faithful in service, that somehow they're going to be immune from times of severe trial or tragedy. Is there Scripture that backs this up?

Dr. Ollila noted that it's actually the opposite. From Scripture we see that anyone who abandoned themselves to the total will of God ended up in less than ideal circumstances. Satan then comes along and puts a question mark about the character of God and we forget that we were born to reflect the nature and character of God to glorify Him. So many times we glorify him through how we respond to sufferings.

How do we know when the 'rug is pulled out from under our feet' whether this is the discipline of God or if this is a test of character/commitment?

Dr. Ollila believes that someone indwelt by the Holy Spirit would know very quickly through conviction and would acknowledge chastisement. David did that in Psalm 32 and Psalm 51. This person will know if what's taking place is God's hand of conviction and correction to conform that person to the image of His Son.

On the other hand, another person cannot presuppose that a person is going through what they are because they're hiding some kind of sin. Most of the time an outside judge will miss the point of what's really going on.

He also described how God uses sickness to drive people to himself and there is no biblical basis for saying that if someone is sick, it's a consequence of some sin in their life.

When a call does come that delivers news of something earth-shattering and now 'normal' is gone, there are 4 action steps people can take:

--Acknowledge--Whatever is happening is true. You won't wake up tomorrow and
discover this was only a dream. For some this happens quickly, while for others
the effect hangs on for a long time.

--Accept--Accepting the scenario is the hardest because it means you completely trust God in the circumstances. Some never accept it and die bitter. They turn to blaming God and change their attitude regarding the church. We see this during the first use of language among Adam and Eve as they blamed God by believing he could have stopped what took place.

--Adapt--Normal is God. So create a new normal and make a ministry out of it. Admit that you would not have chosen whatever took place to happen. However, you would not go back and have it not happen because of the result of your conformity to Christ in the midst of it all.

--Accelerate--Dr. Ollila believes the key to spiritual success is a bad memory and good vision. You can't change yesterday but you can allow God to use you for the rest of your life to accelerate. Paul didn't meditate on his previous behavior and actions. He said, '...forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.' (Philippines 3:13(b)-14)

North Korea continues to threaten the Far East, Japan, the United States, and its allies; and in essence the entire world with nuclear WMD's. Today on PTIB Jimmy DeYoung gets a report on the NKorean threat from Ken Timmerman. Jimmy and Ken will not only discuss the NKorean situation, and the statement from their President about making America "dark", by using an "EMP"; but also the 9/11 terrorist that died when he flew a plane into the South Tower, having pre-recorded a video where he said his reason for the terror attack was because "the American blood was delicious, and the meat cheap"; and Turkey signs a deal with Russia for S-400, the most sophisticated anti-missile system today.

Murder: it’s now so common that we aren’t fazed by it anymore. But the taking of innocent life breaks one of the cardinal commandments of God. And since Roe versus Wade, that commandment has been broken untold millions of times.

September 17th marked the 230th year since our founding fathers produced what became known as the U.S. Constitution.

Joining Jim to explain how this important document came into being was William Federer.  William is a nationally known speaker, author and president of Amerisearch, Inc., a publishing company dedicated to researching America's noble heritage.  He's authored numerous books including, 'America's God and Country Encyclopedia of Quotations', 'The Original 13: History of Religion in America's First Thirteen States', 'Who is the King in America?' and 'For God and Country: A Handbook for the Statesman-Citizen'.

The Declaration of Independence communicated the concept of government by the consent of the governed.  This makes the Constitution a way to have the people govern themselves.  In other words, a republic is where the people are king, ruling through representatives.  So when we pledge allegiance to the flag and to the republic for which it stands, we're pledging allegiance to us being in charge of ourselves.  This means that if someone dishonors the flag, they're basically saying they don't want to be the king anymore!

At the time America was being formed, the rest of the world was ruled by kings—Chinese emperors, czars in Russia, Muslims Sultans in the Ottoman Empire and more.  However, the most powerful king on earth was the king of England.  People in America wanted to change that.  To our advantage was the fact that we had 150 years of practicing self-government in the colonies.

Ancient Israel (which came out of Egypt in 1400 BC) was actually the first nation in recorded history to be ruled without a king and they governed that way for 400 years.  Instead, they were ruled by the Law which says there's no respecter of persons in judgment.  This was the beginning of the concept of equality.

In addition, Israel had no standing army because every man was armed and part of the militia. They were the first nation without prisons and they had a bureaucracy-free welfare system that worked by having people leave gleanings in the fields at harvest time for the poor.

We look back to Israel because America's founders did.  Samuel Langdon, the president of Harvard, gave an address at the ratification convention for the Constitution.  The address was titled, 'The Republic of the Israelites: An Example to the American States'.

William then moved to the 1500's and 1600's where he mentioned the Christian Hebraists, the Mayflower Compact, the Puritans, the congregational form of church government and much more as we remember the formation and the birthday of our unique Constitution.

MUSLIM BOY TO CANADIAN MAN: "WE WILL RULE YOU"
Chris discusses a recent phone call with a listener in Canada who related several strange stories about encounters with Muslims in the city of St. Catherine's in Ontario, Canada.  On one occasion, an 8-10 year old Islamic boy is reported to have told an older Canadian man: "My dad said that some day we will rule you." This and other strange happenings have followed the build-up of the Muslim population in St. Catherine's, much like what is happening across Europe.

Understanding the Insults of Jesus (Part Two) What did Jesus mean when in Matthew 23:24 He told the Jewish religious leaders of His day that they were blind guides that strain at a gnat but swallow a camel? You might find it interesting to know that many Jews in that day did indeed strain their liquids to make sure they were not consuming a gnat or fly or flea. But why and how does this help us understand the condemnation of these Jewish Pharisees by Jesus? Topic: In Matthew 23:33 Jesus calls the Pharisees snakes and a brood of vipers. What was Jesus really conveying in this condemnation? Topic: In Luke 7:32 Jesus compared the Pharisees to children but he was not doing so a compliment. Topic: John Guandolo checks in with us to share about what happen to him at his event in the Midwest. Topic: We take your calls.

This week Pastors Andy Woods and Jim McGowan of Sugar Land Bible Church discuss the correct view of repentance. In this series, we've been going through a list of questions that we ask of our missionaries to determine their biblical soundness. This week we continue with question 18, "Define your understanding of Biblical repentance. What role does repentance play in the salvation (justification) of a person?"

U.S. Marine (Ret.) Captain Udell Meyers will encourage you in this program as to what is your command from on high? What command has God given to every believer? How and why should you be a good soldier of Jesus Christ in contending for the faith? Why does such faithful service matter and have eternal context? In these troubling days in America why must every Christian preach the word? How can you preach the Word as you go about your day? Why should you pray each day for a God to providentially bring someone into your life to share the gospel with them? Why is the job of the Great Commission not one that is just for the pastor but for every believer?

If Russia and China's North Korean nuclear gambit works in the Pacific, look next to Iran going nuclear, creating another nuclear crisis for the United States and its allies in the Middle East and Europe.  Iran's nuclear missile program has been and is being helped by Moscow, Beijing, and Pyongyang, because Tehran is part of the Nuclear Axis waging the New Cold War against the still unwitting democracies of East and West.

U.S. abject surrender to a nuclear-armed North Korea by accepting Mutual Assured Destruction with Kim Jong-Un for ourselves and our allies, after proclaiming for 25 years that this is impossible, will destroy our credibility.  Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran will see such weakness as an invitation to aggression in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and against the United States.

Just as the Neville Chamberlains of 1939 brought World War II on themselves, the Neville Chamberlains of 2017 are on the verge of bringing on World War III.
