Mike Gendron responds to Todd Friel and his false claims that only 3,000 people were killed in the 600 years of the Inquisition, that the Inquisition was carried out by a branch of Christianity, that it was an in-house issue of Catholics killing Catholics, and that it was not a reign of terror per se. Mike Gendron is an extremely credible expert on Catholicism as a former Catholic of 37 years and is so well respected as an expert that he gave this interview just hours before departing to be a keynote speaker at the international Shepherds Conference of Dr. John MacArthur. Topic: Brannon plays some audio from the documentary by former Catholic Priest Richard Bennett that reveals the Inquisition was a reign of terror despite the claims by Todd Friel and Bennett reveals some of the torture tools used during this reign of terror. Topic: Brannon then takes several minutes to lay out just a portion of the detailed and documented figures from respected historians and Christians that document the reliable number of 50 million that were killed in the Inquisition by the Vatican. This figure of 50 million has been reported and documented by the well-known and much respected Halley’s Bible Handbook. John Wesley wrote of the 45 million killed and the 50 million is documented by Professor James MacLean of the Department of French and Spanish at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Dr. Plaisted documents 15 million killed from 1518-1548. Halley’s handbook documents the 14-18 million killed in the thirty year war (1618-1648) started by Ferdinand II for the purpose of suppressing Protestantism in the Holy Roman Empire. Halley’s handbook documents that Ferdinand II had been educated by the Jesuits and with their help undertook to suppress Protestantism (p. 792). Then 5 million killed by the persecutions in Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, and elsewhere. Then as Dr. Plaisted documents you have 3 million killed in the conflict in Bohemia and 4 million in France, then 900,000 killed in the persecution of the Waldenses, then the 1 to 2 million Albigenses killed in Southern France. Then you have those killed by the Vatican before the Reformation that would include the 10 million killed in the Hundred Years War from 1337-1453. Again, why are Christians helping the Vatican re-write their history when we know their goal is to create an ecumenical false church as described in Revelation 17? Topic: We take your calls.

Praying From Poverty (I Samuel 1)

Jimmy DeYoung and Dave James will have another conversation about an issue that needs to be discussed by the Church in our day. Jimmy and Dave will talk about the removal of even the mention of "Satan and/or demons". This trend started in the Church of England and has spread across the ocean to America, even into so-called "conservative churches". This is truly a program you don't want to miss.

Before the paralyzed man received the miracle of healing, he had to obey Jesus’ command to “Get up and walk!” Many of us desire a miracle more than we desire to be obedient to God. Is that true of you?

Jesus Quest: Program #3:David is leading us through a series on Jesus Quest. This is a look at how liberals, posing as evangelicals, are on a quest to discover the real Jesus. Sadly, their Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible.

Rest for the weary, part 7 In this program we will wrap up our walk through Matthew 11:25-30. Jesus invited those who are weary and heavy laden to come to Him for His rest. The rest of God is synonymous with His salvation. We are to rest from our futile efforts of self reformation and non-meritorious good works. And yet, in order to be saved we must repent. So, how is it that in order to be saved we must repent (do something) and yet Christ offers to the weary His rest? Is this a contradiction? Not at all - when repentance is understood biblically. Genuine repentance is not something we do, it is done in us. Genuine repentance is granted by God. Also in this text Jesus says that we are to take His yoke upon us. What does this metaphor teach us about the oft debated question of Lordship Salvation?

The Proper Disposition for your Position! I Timothy 6.1-2

The Spanish speaking world has a large population that has remained mostly unreached in understanding that God is the Creator of all things. Answers in Genesis (www.answersingenesis.org) has a new ministry to reach the Spanish speaking world. In this session, Dr. Danny Faulkner (Ph.D. Astronomy) and Joe Owen (Manager Latin/Hispanic Ministry) discuss the new resources available from the Answers in Genesis website: www.answersingenesis.org/es as well as where to find the next Spanish creation conferences.

In today’s program, we begin a five-installment series of classics from our Search the Scriptures Daily archives with the late Dave Hunt and TBC executive director Tom McMahon, originally broadcast in 2005 and part of the collection of programs based on Dave’s book Beyond Seduction . And now, along with Dave Hunt, here’s Tom.

Jihad and Terrorism (Part Five)

We continue to unravel the mysteries found in the book of Zechariah this week on “Encounter God’s Truth.” According to Dr. John Whitcomb, 144,000 Jewish witnesses will play a vital role in evangelizing and discipling believers at a critical time in the future when the world will experience the “Distress of Nations.” Many things may happen before these events transpire. But here is one question we need to answer with certainty: Are you personally ready for the Lord’s return? And, if so, are you sharing His truth with others? Find answers from Dr. Whitcomb to help you with those issues. You will learn much more as you listen to this installment from Part 3 of “Zechariah: The LORD Remembers.” Middletown Bible Church in Middletown, Connecticut, has graciously allowed us to bring you these recordings from this pivotal Old Testament book. It teaches, as host Wayne Shepherd reminds us each week, that God’s Word is true from the beginning to the end.

People Named Jesus
Not sure if you ever want to name your child, “Jesus,” but one thing is for certain: Don’t ever call yourself the “Messiah.” Mike examines many false teachers who claimed they were the Messiah.

Today on PTIB Jimmy DeYoung has two of his Broadcast Partners, Dr Rob Congdon and Winkie Medad, with some very important reports for those who are listening. The three will have a serious discussion on a number of issues. Jimmy will talk to Winkie about the possible "mass immigration" by the Jews out of Europe. But first Jimmy will get an EU update from Rob.

Kristen Waggoner serves as Senior Vice President of Legal Services with Alliance Defending Freedom, leading their legal and media efforts. She has participated as counsel and prevailed in several high-profile constitutional cases dealing with matters such as same-sex marriage, pharmacist conscience rights and clergy-parishioner privilege. Barronelle Stutzman of Richland, Washington, is a 70 year old grandmother and the sole owner of Arlene's Flowers, a shop started by her mother. According to Kristen, Barronelle loves to serve her customers and her goal is to make friends with them and help them celebrate the important events in their lives. Barronelle met and became friends with a man named Rob Ingersoll about 10 years ago. While understanding Barronelle's religious stance, he nonetheless identified himself to her as a homosexual. Knowing these things about each other they became good friends and worked well together. In 2012 Washington began to recognize same-sex marriage legally. Not long after that, Rob came into the store and requested that Barronelle do his wedding. She politely told Rob that she couldn't do the wedding due to her relationship with Christ. She did, however, recommend 3 other florists. Once Rob left the store, Barronelle thought they would remain friends. Shortly after that, however, the attorney general in the State of Washington heard about this story through the media and sued her both personally and professionally. The suit has been ongoing for the past two years. Unfortunately more pressure has been added to Barronelle's case because the ACLU is also suing her so she is liable for both the attorney fees of the ACLU as well as those for the attorney general, an amount that will reach into seven figures should this go up through the appellate process. Everything Barronelle owns is at stake in this case. If you wish to show your support for her, you can contact the attorney general as well as the governor in the State of Washington at the numbers listed below.
