Topic: Brannon shares two examples of why we need to learn to think and reason if we are not to be cheated by lies. On a daily basis Brannon reads news stories that are filled with false information. Brannon knows the information is false because of years of studying history, worldviews, geo-politics, and Biblical theology. Yet, how is the new Christian or young person that has not had the benefit of years of study suppose to see through the lies? The answer in part is that it is up to folks like us to help them and teach them truth and how to discern truth and error. It has now been revealed that the Democratic National Convention was working in concert with the media to spin public opinion in favor of Hillary Clinton. Brannon reveals how for many years the media has been easily co-opted for the agenda of political movements. Brannon plays audio clips from the 1970s of a U.S. Congressional committee on the Central Intelligence Agency co-opting members of the media to push their agenda on the American people. Christians are going to have to be very careful and very discerning if they too are not going to be cheated and manipulated by the ever increasing political and spiritual lies and manipulation that is going to drastically increase in these last days.

Revealing the Truth About Islam (Program #111)

The Iranian Nuke Deal is one year old and people still believe that Iran can produce a nuclear WMD in a very short time, which is the subject under discussion between Jimmy DeYoung and Ken Timmerman on today's edition of PTIB. Jimmy and Ken will speak about the "quick path to that WMD", as part of a secret deal between the US and Iran; Iran says they are ready to confront America on the follow-up of the deal; Iran says the the US can do nothing about that confrontation; and Syrian President Assad is saying that Turkish President Erdogan is exploiting the failed coup attempt of his country.

Is The Pope Ignorant Or Unwilling?
The Pope surely is not ignorant of what his “church” teaches. Why does he not uphold that?

Christians have a defense to ward off Satan’s fiery darts. We can use what the Apostle Paul calls “the shield of faith.” But how do we use this piece of the armor of God, and how does a strong faith block Satan’s arrows?

Islam is advancing rapidly in Europe as well as here in the United States. As a result there's been an increase in crime and religious conflict that's been escalating at alarming proportions. Government organizations as well as the media often cover these incidents up because they claim such individuals merely have a distorted view of Islam. After all, to them, Islam is a religion of peace. This shows that leaders in Europe as well as the U.S. continue to drink at the well of complacency on this topic therefore little is accomplished in terms of slowing much less halting the advance of Islam.

Joining Jim to discuss this disturbing trend was Soeren Kern. Soeren is a distinguished senior fellow of the Gatestone Institute, a non-partisan, not-for-profit international policy council and think tank dedicated to educating the public about the institutions of democracy and the rule of law, human rights, a free and strong economy, a military capable of ensuring peace at home and in the free world, energy independence and insuring the public stay informed of threats to our individual liberty, sovereignty and free speech. Soeren is also a senior analyst for Transatlantic Relations at the Strategic Studies Group. He specializes in European politics as well as U.S. and European defense and security related issues. He is a regular commentator about European politics and transatlantic relations. He is a dual citizen of the United States and Germany.

About 10 years ago a Roman Catholic bishop in the Netherlands began calling on European Christians to begin calling God, 'Allah' as a way to build bridges with Muslims. As Soeren began doing more research, he discovered that God and Allah are two completely different entities. From there he wrote an article about it. It went viral and he began getting requests to do more research and writing about Islam.

Soeren believes there's two ways to view Islam from a Christian point of view. The whole purpose of Islam is to deny the divinity of Jesus Christ yet from a geopolitical perspective it's dedicated to world conquest and placing the planet under the submission of Allah.

Soeren described how after World War II an entire generation of males was wiped out. This meant there weren't enough males to run the factories. As a result, Germany, the Netherlands and France began importing migrant labor. Germany began importing their labor force from Turkey. The understanding was that eventually these individuals would return to their home nations but they stayed. So over the last 40 to 50 years, Soeren described this situation as being in 'slow motion' but in the last 10 to 15 years the pace has 'snowballed' into a large political and social problem for almost every nation in Europe.

As this program moved along, it took a specific look at Islam in France, Germany and Britain, how these nations are one generation ahead of the U.S. in terms of Islamization and why European secular lawmakers and leaders are letting this happen.

Tomorrow, Jim and Soeren will take a look at how Islam has been affecting the United States.

The Good Fruit of Godly Sorrow, part 13

We continue our look at godly sorrow and biblical repentance today by looking at Paul's statement, "What zeal!" What is biblical zeal? It is actually quite interesting because biblical zeal is the product of two other entities which are opposite of one another. When these two opposites come together, zeal is produced.

Revealing the Truth About Islam (Program #110)

Tepid Worship (Part 1)
Tune in to hear Pastor Mike's recent sermon titled "Tepid Worship (Part 1)."

Jimmy DeYoung and Dave James have their weekly conversation today on PTIB. This time Jimmy and Dave will discuss a State Law in Iowa that is restricting the churches in that State, causing them to break the Law of the Word of God, as it relates to the Standards that the Church sets for its daily operation. There is a fear that these laws could spread to all fifty states, destroying the Religious Freedom that the Church has today. This is an important issue for the Church and your own Church leadership should hear this discussion.

Host Wayne Shepherd leads us into the beginning of a two-part overview of the faithfulness of God in the life, family and ministry of Dr. John Whitcomb—our speaker on “Encounter God’s Truth”—over the past 75 years.

This very personal account reminds us clearly of our theme on this program—that God’s Word is true from the beginning to the end. This fact has certainly been evident in Dr. Whitcomb’s life.

His testimony includes details about his parents, childhood, conversion to Christ, military service in World War II, call to the ministry and seminary training. We trust that you will find it to be encouraging and motivating.

This presentation was given in June of 2016 before the 96th annual meeting of the Fundamental Baptist Fellowship International, which was held at the Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis. Whitcomb Ministries thanks both organizations for permission to broadcast this audio on “Encounter God’s Truth.”

What is driving the conflicts we’ve seen in the past few weeks in France, Germany, Baton Rouge and Orlando?  In this week’s boralogue, John examines common threads through these tragedies and shows that in order to solve the problem, we need to stop listening to politically correct elites and focus on the truth: we have a morality problem and a collision of worldviews.

Is the narrative from Black Lives Matter accurate?  Heather MacDonald (www.manhattan-institute.org), Fellow at the Manhattan Institute reveals statistics which challenge the account that white police officers are the most dangerous threat to black men today.  In fact, African-Americans are much more likely to die from violence in their own communities than in officer-related shootings.

John plays a clip of Dave McAlvany and Kevin Orrick (www.mcalvany.com) from the McAlvany Weekly Commentary where they discuss the possibility that the failed coup in Turkey was orchestrated by President Erdogan to gain a more powerful hold on the country.

Is it a surprise that the EU is floundering under its own weight on a flimsy foundation?  Wallace Henley (www.wallacehenley.net), Senior Pastor at Second Baptist Church in Houston, TX discusses how Christianity was purposefully left out of the EU’s formation and how institutions that cater to political correctness are drowning out the Christian worldview today.

Finally this week, we welcome back Bill Forstchen (www.dayofwrathbook.com), History Professor at Montreat College, who analyzes not only the suppression of freedom of speech and thought on undergraduate and college campuses, but also the dangers of ISIS and our unpreparedness as a country to handle their terror campaign.

John’s quote of the week:

“The violence and the murders that you are seeing must be dealt with at the morality and worldview levels, but those are the very areas where the politically correct crowd will not allow us to go.”

As always, join us online for our Section 6 intelligence briefing featuring analysis by John on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world.

Was American Slavery Biblical? I Timothy 1:1-10

With election talk seemingly everywhere there's debate once again over how we vote for the president. Should it be via the electoral system as outlined in our Constitution or should it be changed to a national popular vote?

Jim looked at this issue with Hans von Spakovsky who is a legal senior fellow in the Heritage Foundation's Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies. He is an authority on a number of issues including that of voter fraud and voter ID, enforcement of federal voting rights laws, administration of elections and voting equipment standards and protecting the integrity of elections. Before joining Heritage in 2008, he served two years as a member of the Federal Election Commission, the authority charged with enforcing campaign finance laws for congressional and presidential elections. He has also formerly worked at the Justice Department.

Article 2 section 1 of the Constitution deals with the election process for president of the U.S. This is accomplished through the electoral college. In this system, each state gets a certain number of electoral college votes. So when you enter the voting booth, you are actually voting for the electoral college delegate who will then vote for the president.

Hans explained that the reason for implementation of the electoral college system is due to the fact that the founders were concerned with making sure that rural, less populated areas of our nation would not be neglected. They assumed that if we had a national popular vote, candidates would only have to go to big cities and urban areas and they could ignore the rest of the nation in order to secure election to office.

Under our electoral college system, each state gets the number of votes equal to the number of senators and congressmen they have. This means that even the smallest states have at least 3 electoral college votes. It's true that candidates won't spend as much time in those states but at least they won't be totally neglected, which they would, under a national popular vote system.

John Koza, creator of the scratch-off lottery ticket, has been instrumental in the push for the national popular vote idea. This idea is a state compact or agreement between the states. 11 have already passed it. Once enough states have passed it that represent 270 electoral college votes, the compact then goes into force and each state that passed it agrees that the electoral college votes in their state will be awarded not based upon the vote in their state but instead upon the national popular vote.

OBAMA, CHRISTIANITY & ISLAM
Chris discusses the issue of President Barack Obama's faith, which has recently been directly challenged during the Republican National Convention. While Obama has repeatedly claimed to be a Christian, are his statements consistent with a true Christian profession? A comparison of quotes concerning what the President has said about Islam vs. what he has said about Christianity is analyzed.

Series: With the Master is Fullness of Joy

Lesson: 15

Title: Rejoice and Beware!

Passage: Philippians 3:1-3

Description: As we begin chapter three of our study, Paul turns from writing on humility, unity, death to self, and relationships, to a warning to the church at Philippi regarding religious fakes and false teachers. We too should take heed to this warning as false teachers have grown to alarming numbers in our day! We will consider Paul’s warning against false teachers along with Paul’s reminder of true believers.
