Topic: Using predictive, Bible prophecy to reach millennials. Brannon talks about a conversation he and his wife recently had with a family friend and millennial over dinner in their home. This young college student was asking questions about world events including geo-politics and economics. As this student peppered Brannon with questions the student wanted to know how Brannon had written and spoken accurately on many world events even before they came to pass. This gave Brannon the opportunity to explain that his foreknowledge was because much of the trends he has been writing and speaking about for many years are predicted within the pages of the Bible. As Brannon took the student to Ezekiel 38 & 39 and Revelation 17 & 18 the student expressed amazement that the Bible was filled with this information in advance. Brannon uses this example to encourage his listening friends to use apologetics and the supernatural nature of predictive Bible prophecy to awaken the mind’s of young millennials to the authority and veracity of God’s Word. Topic: We take your calls.

Mike Gendron is the founder and director of Proclaiming the Gospel Ministry.  Mike was a devout Roman Catholic for over 3 decades and was taught to rely upon the authority of the Church above all else.  Mike searched the Scriptures and was amazed to find that what he read in Scripture contradicted the teaching and tradition of the Church he had been a part of for so long.  He trusted Jesus as his Savior and now the Bible has become his sole authority in all matters of faith. Mike is the author of the books, ‘Preparing for Eternity’ and the new ‘Contending for the Gospel.’

Mike explained that Peter was a fisherman.  When he gave up that career to follow Christ, he became a fisher of men.  So when you take a look at the two epistles that Peter wrote, you see that a lot of what he said is diametrically opposed to what Pope Francis teaches and historically to what the Catholic Church has taught.

As a fellow elder of the Church, Peter was fallible.  We see this in Scripture as Paul confronted him in Galatians 2 because Peter wasn’t acting in line with the truth of the Gospel.  Peter was also rebuked by Christ as seen in Matthew 16. On the other hand, Peter’s inspired words were infallible when he penned 1-2 Peter and his sermon in the book of Acts.  He never claimed to be the head of the Church. He knew that Jesus was the only head of the Church as he knew that Christ purchased the Church with his own shed blood.

So do Roman Catholics believe their Pope is infallible?  Mike said they do and that historically the Roman Catholic Church has believed that their popes have all been infallible when they preach from the chair of Peter.  According to Mike, that’s where things get confusing because when you ask them about some of the bizarre statements that Pope Francis has made, some of which even go against historic Catholicism, they will simply say that he wasn’t speaking from the chair of Peter.  That’s their ‘loophole.’

Mike noted that if you ask a Catholic where their infallible teachings of pope’s are listed, they can’t come up with it.  At the same time it’s a convenient option for them to declare their Pope infallible when it comes to faith and morals.

As this broadcast progressed, Jim had Mike address the following:

–What were Peter’s thoughts on the concept of confession of sins to a priest?

–Are Catholics allowed to go directly to God?

–Should we be praying to the saints?  Did Peter pray to anyone but God?

–Does Pope Francis believe we can be saved apart from Jesus Christ?

–Is there a contrast between what Peter taught and what the Pope says on the issue of assurance of eternal life?

–Did Peter promote the purchasing of indulgences for the remission of sins or the sacrifice of the mass?

–Is the Catholic priesthood necessary to offer sacrifices to God?

–Is Peter the ‘rock’ upon which Christ would build His church?

This Crosstalk presents all of this and more in detail along with input from listeners.

Revealing The Truth About Sharia (Part Twenty-Eight

Jimmy DeYoung has Ken Timmerman come to the Broadcast Table each week to discuss geo-political events around the world that seem to be setting the stage for these events to be fulfilled, as called for in the Bible. Today on PTIB Jimmy and Ken will discuss the Iranian "command center" on the Syrian-Iraqi border that can reach Israel with the Iranian missiles; the US plan for a coalition of allies to patrol the Persian Gulf is coming together; Israel's warning that their F-35's can reach targets in the Middle East; and that Russia and China are moving to militarize all the nations in Africa.

Immoral relationships create very deep bonds, even between people having “casual” sex. And the more bonds we make, the tougher they are to break. But there is a path to freedom. The bondage that comes from not obeying God’s moral rules can be broken.

Dr. Pry talks about the power outage in New York and what we learned, have not learned and can learn from this 5 hour power-outage.

7 Problems with Replacement Theology. Here, we define “replacement theology” as well as discuss “what is wrong with replacement theology?” Anti-Israelism is galloping through the church world and we need to be equipped to deal with this subject from a biblical perspective.

Revealing The Truth About Sharia (Part Twenty-Seven

Today on PTIB Jimmy DeYoung will be talking with Dave James, for their weekly conversation, and this time with Dave on the ground in Ethiopia. Jimmy and Dave will discuss the political and religious situation in this very large African nation and the ministry that Dave is having in the country; the report will include the Islamic community in Ethiopia and how they will have a role in the end of times scenario that is found in Bible Prophecy. This is a key report, from on the ground in the country, by Dave James.

With host Wayne Shepherd, we welcome you to this week’s edition of “Encounter God’s Truth” from Whitcomb Ministries. We are currently in Volume One of a series called “Acts: Witness of the Early Church,” which was recorded live at Middletown Bible Church in Middletown, Connecticut. On this broadcast, Dr. Whitcomb begins to explain the significance of the very first message given during the age of the church—“The Pentecostal Sermon”—when the Apostle Peter spoke to the great crowd gathered in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost. As we go through Acts 2, we will consider the difficult issues involved in this passage, which is so often misunderstood. As we do, the basic clarity of Peter’s preaching will be evident—even as it was to the thousands of people who were there convicted of their need to believe in Christ. This message will inform and challenge you, and we trust that it will also motivate you to consider the many strategic opportunities that we have to serve the Lord in these “end times.”God’s Word is true from the beginning to the end! Thanks for listening to it this week on “Encounter God’s Truth.”

With all the partisan bickering that seems to clog our national media these days, what are the things we really need to be concerned about?  In this week's boralogue, John looks at some storm waves on the horizon, including a political blowback following the Mueller report fiasco, an impending downturn in the economy, and the biggest battle for the future of this country: fighting to retain our freedom of speech.

Freedom of conscience and religion is being attacked north of our border. Independent researcher and author Michael Wagner (www.educationunlimited.ca) joins us from Canada to discuss how, if doctors in Ontario have a moral objection to abortion, they don't have to perform it but they are required to give the patient a referral for it.  If they refuse, they could face substantial penalties.

We have heard the chant, "Build the wall!" but why do we need one?  Spencer Morrison (www.nationaleconomicseditorial.com), Founder and Editor-in-Chief of National Economics Editorial, shares the story of Hadrian's Wall, built by the Roman Empire in what is now modern-day England, and gives examples of how walls protect the people and culture of a nation.

Finally this week, we invite back to the program Dexter Van Zile (www.camera.org), Christian Media Analyst for CAMERA, who follows up his analysis of the Ground Truth Project and how the group has maligned both evangelicals and Zionists in favor of a politically correct narrative.

John’s quote of the week:

"If you look at the argument that the state is going to be the determiner of what is moral and immoral, then we never would have abolished slavery.  The state had once said that slavery was a legal thing so by today's logic, people shouldn't have argued against it.  With this new worldview shift, everything has been flipped on its head."

Sex is more than a one-night stand. It imprints the partners with a bond that can follow them to the grave. Having many partners means living with many soul ties, obstructing real commitment and making it seem impossible. How can we break those bonds?

Despite what we may hear about Muslims, many are conflicted inside.  Many recognize that the path they’re on is a hopeless one that doesn’t bring peace, love, joy or forgiveness.  These are things they long for as well.

As Islam seeks world dominance, there are many Muslims coming to faith in Christ.  This edition of Crosstalk demonstrated that, as it showed how God truly is at work in the Muslim community while also showing how you can best witness to Muslims.

Joining Jim for this discussion was ‘Yakub Kuznetsov’ (not his real name).  Yakub has been actively involved as a missionary in evangelism for some 33 years, the last 14 in outreach to Muslims.

Yakub began by noting how he discovered through early evangelism efforts that Muslims are not some unreachable people group.  So he took a trip to Israel. While there he ended up in a bad neighborhood at the end of Hezekiah’s tunnel where there were some kids kicking a soccer ball around.  The ball came by him and he kicked it back and before he knew it, he was being stoned.

He went back to his hotel room where he was furious at what had happened.  He felt that this was so typical of the Muslim world. As he sat there judging them in his own heart, he realized that they had never witnessed the love of Jesus.  His followup thought was the fact that here he sat, lashing out at them in his own hatred. That broke his heart and caused him to ask God to send him to the Muslim world.

As Yakub tells his story, you can see the faith stretching that God was working in his life so that now fear no longer holds any strength as he evangelizes.  He explains how showing the love of Christ is key to reaching Muslims, how he does this both face-to-face and via social media, testimonies of God’s protection over his life, testimonies of Muslims coming to Christ and more.

Crosstalk callers bring their views to the discussion as well.
