Guest: Dr. Tommy Ice. Topic John Piper declares that salvation is NOT by faith alone. This sounds shocking and like it has to be a mistake but sadly it is not. We read from a September 25, 2017 article by John Piper as we reveal more false teaching from this popular Neo-Calvinist. Topic: Piper seems to confuse justification with sanctification and to be adding works to salvation in this month of October 2017 that is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Topic: We take your calls.

(Program #44) Usama Dakdok reveals the dangers of interfaith dialogues by playing the audio of the interfaith dialogue between James White and Jihadi Yasir-Qadhi. Usama will start and stop the audio as he provides commentary and uses this as a opportunity to refute the misinformation with truth.

Ken Timmerman is in Washington, on the "catbird seat", where he can look at current events around the world that seemingly are setting the stage for the prophetic scenario that is found in the prophetic passages of the Bible. Jimmy DeYoung will interview Ken on PTIB today on many of these issues that are unfolding in our world today. Jimmy and Ken will discuss why President Trump did not certify the Iran Nuke Deal; NKorea's complaints about the US-SKorean military exercises in the far East; Turkish President Erdogan blaming the Jews for the Kurds referendum for state-hood; and Senator Bob Corker blasting President Trump.

If you visit Gethsemane, you can see the ancient olive trees. It is a place for tears. There in the garden, Jesus asked the disciples to pray with Him. They fell asleep, causing the Savior to ask, “Could you not watch with Me one hour?”

Today's Crosstalk is a special broadcast of the September 2017 VCY Rally held in southeast Wisconsin. The featured speaker was Shahram Hadien. His presentation: The Trojan Horse of Interfaith Dialogue.

Shahram was born in Iran and raised Muslim. More importantly, Shahram was born again after hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ and receiving Jesus as His Savior and Lord. Shahram is a pastor, a former police officer, a teacher, coach, and now as the founder of the Truth in Love Project (T.I.L. for short) he travels extensively contending for the faith that saves and exposing the dangers of blending Christianity with Islam. While time does not allow Crosstalk to air the entire presentation, we do encourage everyone to obtain the DVD which covers the entire evening and features all of the power point teachings.

Shahram starts by detailing his list of resources for the presentation, beginning with the Holy Bible (also listing the Koran, and other named works). Shahram contends that the idea of "Chrislam" (blending of Christianity & Islam) is sneaking into America's churches and many are not even batting an eye - regardless of what Scriptures warn. He says that Muslims are attempting to "convert us" (Christians). Shahram explains what he sees as the "three false claims of the interfaith ecumenical movement." Of these, he explains how Christians are being "told" there is a "common word between the bible and the Koran." He also says more and more churches in America are being deceived by "evangelical leaders" who have actually signed onto a so called "Common Word" document.

Over the course of the evening, Shahram refutes those who refute him for taking things (in their view) too far - and shares video which backs up his claims that even elders "in churches" are setting down with Muslim Imams to find common ground (the audience reaction to this is quite chilling). Shahram shares several more verses from the bible and along with them, how implementing them will bring change. He also makes a strong point that because Christians are so far away from the Scriptures today, if we will go back to teaching about our Creator God, the next generation would no longer have to be confused about their "sexuality or orientation" saying it "would go away because we would understand Who God is and how He created us." He ends with testimony and proper ways to reach Muslims with the Gospel that saves, as well as an exhortation to pray for Israel and the Church; the Church that is determined to fulfill Jesus' great commission.

Topic: Two federal judges block Trump's travel ban again that was set up to stop immigrants from terrorist states and nations. The United Nations is dominated by Marxist and Muslim nations that hate America and Israel. Thus, should we be surprised that the UN is behind a program that is bringing hundreds of thousands of these Muslim immigrants into America? These immigrants get on welfare as soon as they arrive, which is aiding in the collapse of America’s economic system through unsustainable debt. Brannon plays a few audio clips by Ann Corcoran of Refugee Resettlement Watch that explain this agenda. Be warned. Some of the folks at some of the largest Bible ministries in America think such programming is the promotion of conspiracy theories. Yet, remember these are the same members of the evangelical Mafia who give credibility to social justice warriors and Black Lives Matter advocates like John Piper and Matt Chandler when their ministry heads share the stage with them at various conferences. Thus, we should not expect these evangelical simpletons to see liberalism when it is staring them right in the face even in their own religious cabal. Topic: George Soros transfers $18 billion to his foundation. Will these funds be used to further the attempts at a globalist and communist/marxist revolution in America? Topic: According to The Washington Times, Black Lives Matter has pledges for more than $100 million from liberal foundations. Topic: Did the FBI at the highest level cover up a nuclear bribery case that enriched the Clintons? There are many reasons why the average American no longer places any faith in our federal law enforcement agencies. Topic: Bill Hybel’s Willow Creek picks a man and woman to be co-pastors to replace him. Brannon explains why this pattern will be duplicated now that Hybels has set the example for mega-churches. What does the Bible say about female pastors? Why is the Biblical prohibition against female pastors not to be seen as a statement that women are beneath men spiritually? Topic: We take your calls.

Today we talk with Steve Gurn.  Steve is a retired Marine who spent 10 years in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting for the freedoms of the Iraqis and the Afghanies.  After leaving the Marine Corp., Steve transitioned to a security firm providing security for the Iraqi Army while teaching them to defend themselves.  During his time as a security contractor Steve had the chance to talk in depth with the Iraqis on his team.  It became very apparent that they did not want to be free.  As a result of his interaction with his Interpreter, he found out that the Iraqis could not handle freedom.  In addition he was told that if he were to step out of the wire by himself in Iraq he would be dead with an hour.  This exchanged so bothered him that he put together a Youtube video that would go viral. Join us on today's show as we discuss the fight for power in Iraq and the affects that it will have on America if we do not wake up to the Muslim Brotherhood insurgency taking place right here in our own country.

Christian Persecution in Iran and the World

We are seeing silence from the church in the face of evil. What's amazing about today's show is where the voice of courage comes from, one who is standing with persecuted Christians in Iran. That surprising voice is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He calls on Christian media and Christians to be a voice for the persecuted Christians in Iran. Where are the voices of the so called pastors and Christians who are all in for Muslim refugees but say nothing for the plight of Christians? It is shameful. But I thank Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his courage of conviction and standing with persecuted Christians in Iran.  Let us not be silent in the face of evil!

Today on PTIB Jimmy DeYoung has a conversation with Col Bob Maginnis, who is at the Pentagon, about the decision President Trump made to not certify the Iranian Nuclear Deal. This decision has been denounced by Iran's leaders and many world leaders who believe that this will only allow Iran to speed up their effort to develop a Nuclear WMD. Jimmy and Bob will also discuss Iran's effort to become the leader of the Middle Eastern Islamic leaders.

To an outsider, hearing people speaking in unknown languages no doubt raises more questions than it does answers. So Paul argued for clear teaching in known dialects. In this message we receive more teaching on a controversial gift.

Ron Rhodes is the president of Reasoning from the Scriptures Ministries, a teaching and resource ministry that specializes in defending Christianity against atheists, agnostics, skeptics, the cults, world religions and any group teaching false doctrine. Ron is the author of over 70 books, most which deal in the area of apologetics. This Crosstalk discussed his book, 'Bible Prophecy Answer Book: Everything You Need to Know about the End Times'.

Over one-fourth of the Bible is prophetic and that one-fourth is not limited to the book of Revelation. There are prophecies throughout the Old Testament that refer to the first coming of Christ as well as the second coming. In the New Testament there are more specific prophecies about the second coming.

Ron noted that the Old Testament prophecies that pointed to the first coming of Christ were fulfilled literally. The precedent has been set. So if you want to know how God will fulfill prophecies that deal with Christ's second coming, take a look at how God has already fulfilled prophecies in the past.

For Ron, this means that when the Bible says there's going to be an invasion of Israel by Russia, Iran, Turkey, Libya and other Muslim nations, he believes that will literally take place.

Also, when Scripture teaches that Christ will come and snatch believers from the earth (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17), he doesn't believe that's metaphorical, he believes that's a literal event that will take place before the tribulation period unfolds.

He also believes that the judgments the Bible mentions are real. Everyone will have to give an account.

Ron also commented on 'preterism'. This is the belief that Christ's second coming took place in A.D. 70. Ron disagrees with this assessment for a number of reasons: (1)--As already noted, the precedent has already been set. In other words, Christ's first coming was literal so the second coming will be as well. (2)--A third of mankind was not killed as predicted in Revelation 9:18. (3)--An invasion of 200 million from the East did not occur as predicted in Revelation 9:13. (4)--Every living thing in the sea didn't die as predicted in Revelation 16:3. For these reasons, Ron doesn't believe the allegorical approach of preterism works.

Another important point related to the issue of preterism has to do with the dating of Revelation. Some claim it was written prior to A.D. 70, therefore they feel it must have been fulfilled in that year. Ron noted that the evidence shows it was written much later, somewhere between 90-96 A.D.

Although Ron takes a literal approach to Bible prophecy, he indicated that this doesn't mean that we should ignore symbols. Those symbols are typically defined right in the context. He cited the example of the lamp stands that represent the 7 churches and the bowl of incense that represents the prayers of God's people.

As this program moved along, Jim had Ron comment on the following:

--The various signs of the times that indicate we are living in the season of Christ's return.
--Is there a difference between what the Bible refers to as 'many anti-christs', the 'spirit of anti-christ' and an actual person who is the anti-christ?
--Is there a connection between the anti-christ and the Mahdi that Muslims are looking for?
--The Bible calls the rapture a mystery. What does this mean?

Today on PTIB Jimmy DeYoung has a conversation with Winkie Medad who will rehearse the events of the seven day Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, a time when many Jewish activities took place that set the stage for the rebuilding of the next Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. Jimmy and Winkie will discuss the Jerusalem March when 50,000 Jews and Christians marched through Jerusalem; over three thousand Jewish Priest pronounced "Priestly Blessings" on 60,000 Jewish and Christian worshipers at the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem; and how the Sanhedrin re-enacted the "water libation" near the Temple Mount, all precursors to the building of the Tribulation Temple in Jerusalem.

Join us on Mission 17-26 of It's Not Rocket Science with Jason Pratt. After launching from Romans 1:16-23 we'll meet this week's Scriptural Scientist, William Herschel. In our last mission, 17-25, we discussed what has been called "the great debate" between Bishop Samuel Wilberforce and Thomas Huxley. This debate is historically important as it garnered favorable attention for the infamous book that was recently released at the time. Before this debate Darwin's ideas presented were not well received by the broader scientific community. We'll play portions of a sermon or talk that was presented a few decades ago by Dr. A. E. Wilder-Smith, our Scriptural Scientist Spotlight from Mission 17-25. With 3 earned doctorates and at least 6 professorships, Dr. Wilder-Smith, deftly explains some very key and basic principles that are necessary to understand and appreciate the nature of the Wilberforce-Huxley debate. Wilder-Smith was one of the presenters at the 1986 Huxley Memorial Lecture at the invitation of the University of Oxford, which was the last time Richard Dawkins publicly debated a Christian. We'll listen as Wilder-Smith summarizes the argument used by Huxley in 1861 which contained a very significant error that was missed 157 years ago. See if you can spot the error, we'll reveal it in an upcoming episode! I also give a brief update to the end of mission for the Cassini orbiter that was crashed into the surface of Saturn this year.

Some feel that the gift of tongues is crucial evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit. Others say that modern tongues do not form words in any known language. In this message, Erwin Lutzer begins a careful study in First Corinthans 14, a study you won’t want to miss.

Carl Kerby is the president and founder of Reasons for Hope. Prior to its forming, he was a founding board member of Answers in Genesis and served there for 15 years. Carl is also a former air traffic controller at Chicago-O'Hare. He is co-creator and host for the video series, 'Weapons of Mass Instruction' and presenter of the DVD series for teens, 'Demolishing Strongholds'. He is the author of 'Remote Control: The Power of Hollywood on Today's Culture', 'Absotively, Posilutely: The Best Evidence for Creation' and 'Reasons for Hope in the Mosaic of Your Life'.

Carl began by noting that 6 years ago he was booked out a year and a half and ministry opportunities were 'off the charts'. However, he admitted that God had put on his heart that he wanted him to go after the younger generation and fathers. Why? 50%-88% of young people raised in the church are gone by the time they reach age 18. He wanted to look young people in the eye and tell them that God's Word is true and trustworthy. It deals with issues that they're being confronted with, therefore they don't have to be ashamed of their faith.

What's the best way to do this? It's by remembering to teach application and not simply memorization.

Are these issues the same for young people today as they were for those of yesteryear? Carl believes that ultimately the core issue is doubt and that's the tool that Satan has been using going all the way back to Genesis. So the tool hasn't changed but the way that the questions are being asked has changed.

What are some of the messages today's kids are hearing? Some include: You can't trust the Bible because it's full of mistakes and errors. Why would God allow death and suffering? What about carbon dating? What about continental drift? What about aliens and U.F.O.'s? Why is homosexuality wrong if they love each other? All of these go back to a core issue of whether or not you can really trust in absolute truth. Is there an absolute authority that will serve as a foundation from which to deal with such issues?

Are churches tending to these critical areas of need and countering the false messages? While Carl believes there are individuals who are really 'going after it', he doesn't believe it's the majority. In fact, he noted that the majority of Christian colleges won't address this issue. He sees the same attitude among Christian churches that won't address such issues for fear of offending people, fear of driving someone away, they don't feel the issue is that important or they just don't know how to deal with it.

Jim then turned the discussion to Evolution Sunday which is celebrated by some people on the second Sunday of every February. This year we saw 13,479 clergy sign on to the Clergy Letter Project. That's the number of clergy who committed to engaging this issue.

Jim read the 'common letter' of this effort that included the following: '...the timeless truths of the Bible and the discoveries of modern science may comfortably coexist. We believe that the theory of evolution is a foundational, scientific truth, one that has stood up to rigorous scrutiny and upon which much of human knowledge and achievement rest. To reject this truth or to treat it as one theory among others is to deliberately embrace scientific ignorance and transmit such ignorance to our children...We ask that science remain science and that religion remain religion, two very different but complimentary forms of truth.'

In response, Carl asked how you can transform hearts if the book from which we learn about the one who can transform hearts isn't true? Science, on the other hand, changes. What gives people the right to change it? Christians have stood by and have failed to get involved and tell people they have no right to redefine terms. Science is knowledge. How do you gain that? You gain it through the scientific method. That's where you come up with an observation, a hypothesis based upon the observation, you test it, you repeat it and you verify it. There is no test that allows you to show an amoeba coming from nothing, turning into something, to grow into a worm, grow legs, crawl onto land, become an amphibian, to turn into a rat, to turn into a wolf and then go back into the ocean to become a blue whale. There's no evidence for this. It's a belief.

Learn more about how you can defend your faith when you review this vital Crosstalk broadcast.
