Coming Evangelical Capitulation to Homosexuality Many have speculated that evangelical churches would, in the face of changing public opinion and the recent Supreme Court decision, capitulate to the homosexual movement and soften their stance against homosexual marriage. I have agreed with this assessment but did not necessarily think it would happen immediately. Well, it has begun. Prominent charismatic preachers Brian Houston of Hillsong church in Australia and T.D. Jakes of The Potters House in Texas have now - on the same day - officially come out affirming that practicing homosexuals can be members in good standing of their churches and, in the latter's case, affirmed homosexual marriage. In today's program I discuss that this theological capitulation can be traced to the acceptance of females in positions of spiritual leadership and authority in the church. It began this way with the mainline Protestant denominations and it is now happening in some large charismatic churches. Once the biblical parameters for the roles of men and women are abandoned there is no logical or theological reason to not abandon the biblical parameters for marriage either.
