The Senate Judiciary Committee voted early this afternoon, 11-10 along party lines, to advance Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the full Senate. Senator Jeff Flake voted to move the nomination to the full Senate. He met with Democrats just before the vote and agreed with them to recommend a week delay before that full Senate vote to have an FBI investigation. Lindsey Graham said that whether the Senate would delay the vote by a week was not up to the Judiciary Committee but is up to the Senate leadership, but if Senator Flake wants to make his vote contingent upon such a delay, there may not be enough votes for Kavanaugh's confirmation.
