This week’s ‘Round-Up’ was one day early, but the stories of interest to Christians on the national and international levels were still plentiful. Here’s a sample of what Jim presented:

–North Korea fired two short range missiles today. The U.S. responded with an intercontinental ballistic missile test of their own just 10 minutes later, although the U.S. insisted that the timing of their test was coincidental.

–The U.S. government said it seized a North Korean ship used to transport coal in violation of sanctions.

–The leader of the Palestinian Islamic jihad called the 700 rockets fired at Israel a live fire drill meant to prepare for a war against Israel in which they will focus on killing as many Israeli civilians as possible.

–The U.S. has sent the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group and a bomber task force to the Middle East to send a clear message to the Iranian regime.

–Iran appears to be moving short range ballistic missiles aboard boats in the Persian Gulf in response to the U.S. moving its aircraft strike group to the Middle East.

–The Trump administration imposed fresh sanctions on Iran’s steel, iron, aluminum and copper sectors of the nation hours after Iran said it would stop complying with certain parts of the Obama era nuclear agreement.

–The U.S. is set to increase tariffs on 200 billion dollars of goods, from 10 percent to 25 percent, unless the U.S. and China agree on a comprehensive trade deal.

–Beijing announced it will send its chief economic negotiator to pay a visit to the American trade officials.

–The U.S. military will deploy a Navy hospital to South America in response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.

–The Trump administration is ready for a new salvo of sanctions on Cuba and Russia due to their destabilizing efforts in Venezuela.

–The White House invoked executive privilege to block the release of the unredacted Mueller Report on Russian election meddling.

–The House Judiciary Committee voted Wednesday to recommend holding Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress for defying the subpoena for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s unredacted Russia Report and underlying documents.

–House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler led the charge Wednesday to hold William Barr in contempt of Congress for not handing over the documents.

–Jim played an audio cut of Congressman Jim Jordan speaking out about holding Attorney General William Barr in contempt.

–Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has rejected a congressional request for 6 years of President Donald Trump’s confidential tax returns.

–Nancy Pelosi declared we can’t accept a 2nd term for Donald Trump.

–Nancy Peolsi warned fellow Democrats that if President Trump isn’t defeated by a sizable margin in the next election, he might not respect the outcome of the vote and refuse to leave office.

–Nancy Pelosi bragged that the U.S. Congress is the superior branch of government.

–The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals granted the Trump administration’s request to send asylum seekers back to Mexico to temporarily wait out court proceedings.

–Apprehensions at the southern border hit 109,144 in April.
