With our annual Father’s Day tribute edition of Crosstalk coming up, that meant moving up the weekly ‘Round-Up’ program.  Here’s a small sample of news items that Jim covered:

–2 oil tankers were damaged in a suspected attack in the Gulf of Oman off the coast of Iran.

–U.S. officials say it’s highly likely that Iran was behind the torpedo attack in the Gulf of Oman.

–The U.S. dispatched a guided missile destroyer to the gulf Thursday after the tankers called in the reported attack.

–The price of oil has surged after the suspected Gulf of Oman tanker attack.

–Iran’s foreign minister warned that the U.S. can’t expect to stay safe in any economic war against the Islamic republic.

–Mexico has finally drawn a line, slapping caravan organizers with trafficking charges in a move that was not likely part of a deal with Washington.

–The Mexican military deployed throughout the nation as part of the Mexican president’s vow to do more to apprehend migrants headed to the U.S.  They have officially begun to target foreigners who have hitched rides aboard a freight train known as ‘The Beast’ to get to the U.S./Mexico border.

–The TSA is allowing illegal aliens to fly on commercial flights once released from ICE and/or border patrol and are allowed to board such flights despite not having one of the 15 approved forms of identification.  

–The Democratic Republic of Congo is suffering from a major breakout of the Ebola virus.

–California is set to be the first state in the nation to pick up the tab for tens of thousands of illegal immigrants so they can have full health benefits.

–President Trump has asserts executive privilege over documents related to citizenship census question.

–The Supreme Court announced this week that it will not take up a legal dispute from atheist groups which sought to remove the words, ‘In God We Trust’ from U.S. currency.

–The Supreme Court rejected a challenge to the indefinite detention of enemy combatants at Guantanamo Bay prison camp in Cuba.

–President Trump came to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to praise farmers and pledged to continue fighting for them.

–Longtime political antagonist, Representative Jerry Nadler, received a surprise call from President Trump who wished the representative well after a sudden hospital stay.

–Representative Ilhan Omar from Minnesota will have to repay thousands after the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board found that she filed tax returns claiming she was married to one man when she was married to another.

–Texas Governor Greg Abbott ‘tweeted’ a video of himself signing a law protecting     free speech on college campuses.

–Illinois lawmakers have repealed the state’s ban on partial-birth abortion and much more while stating that the unborn have no rights.  

–Vermont Republican Governor Phil Scott signed a radical pro-abortion bill into law allowing unborn babies to be aborted for any reason up to birth.

–A St. Louis judge granted a preliminary injunction to Reproductive Health Services Planned Parenthood, the last abortion facility in Missouri.
