Like the rest of the country, I was shocked and stunned by the violence and terror of September 11, 2001. Carol and I were at a pastors' retreat and were awakened with a call to turn on our TV. What we saw was almost surreal, an incomprehensible sight. We wept as we watched. Rushing into our clothes, we hurried and joined the other pastors in the conference room where we went into a time of fervent prayer and intercession. As the events unfolded, I knew that, as a nation, we would be facing the most serious attack in the history of our country. I also knew it would come through the ranks of a religion, not another nation.
 
A few years ago, I read a book called "The Islamic Some years ago, I read a book called "The Islamic Invasion," by Dr. Robert Morey, (1992 edition Harvest House Publishers). Dr. Morey said, "the very DNA of every fervent Muslim, through persuasion and through the sword, is to take the world for Allah.  It has been a holy calling from the time of Mohammed's journey to Medina, where he built an army over 10,000 zealots and proclaimed Allah had instructed them to go forth and cause the nations to bow to Allah and recognize him as Allah's holy prophet or suffer the sword as infidels[ed: non-Muslims]". It is as true today as it was when he wrote that.
 
Throughout the centuries, the flames of that fire burned cross the nations, whole cities converting or being slaughtered. That holy war still rages across the world and non-Muslims continue to be massacred in vast, incomprehensible numbers. Dr. Morey's book was a prophetic wake up call to America. Not only would that battlefield come to America, but it hit us on 9/11 with a new level of violence never seen before on this land.
 
 
A Seventh Century people in a 21st Century World
 
To understand Islam, perhaps the key factor is to realize that Islam must be understood in the religious and cultural context of seventh century Arabia.
 
What Mohammed did was to raise seventh century culture to the status of divine law. In fact, Islam is the deification of seventh century Arabian culture. Unless you understand the historical context of when and where Mohammed and this religion were born, you will never understand Islam.     
 
Dr. Arthur Arberry, the head of Mid-Eastern Studies at Cambridge University and one of the great Arabic scholars said:
 
"Islam is a peculiarly Arabian religion because Islam is a religion and culture, and as a religion and culture, they are one. It must be understood," he said, "in terms of its essential identification with Seventh Century culture."     
 
Islam imposes its seventh century Arabian culture, in its political expression, in its family affairs, in its dietary laws, in its clothing, in its religious rites, and in its language. They are religiously and socially compelled to impose seventh century Arab culture on the rest of the cultures in the world.     
 
 
 

 
It is solid, orthodox Islamic ideology that the world is divided into two: The Islamic "Dar e-Salaam" or House of Islam or House of Peace.  Opposing this "Dar e-Salaam" is the "Dar e-Harb" or House of War into which all infidels fall.  There can be no peace for Islam until the entire "Dar e-Harb" falls to the "Dar e-Salaam".  So this really is a fight to the finish.  Islam must be victorious or be vanquished.  There can be no effective defense against Islam or any effective Christian outreach to its people until we understand this volatile religious challenger of our faith and our way of life.
 
The Koran clearly defines and names the enemies of Allah and the Christians and the Jews are chief among them. Muslim Apologists can clamor about Constitutional rights all they want, but they have proven this 'truth' throughout every century of their existence and every nation into which they have immigrated.
 
The laws and religious control  of every Muslim and every Muslim nation is the Koran and its barbaric Sharia law; a law already pushing its way into Muslim occupied parts of our own country.  The cry of every radical, fundamentalist Muslim who acts upon or supports or stands idle is for Holy Jihad.
 
Let's read what the Koran, the Islamic Holy Scriptures, says about this:
And those who perform jihad for Us, We shall certainly guide them in Our ways, and God is surely with the doers of good. (Sura 29: 69) 
O you who believe! Shall I guide you to a commerce that will save you from a painful torment. That you believe in Allah and His Messenger and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives, that will be better for you, if you but know! (If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwelling in Gardens of Eternity, that is indeed the great success. (Sura 61: 10-12)
O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people. Your friend can be only Allah; and His messenger and those who believe." O you who believe! do not take for guardians those who take your religion for a mockery and a joke, from among those who were given the Book before you and the unbelievers; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah if you are believers. (Sura 5:51, 57)
The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement. (Sura  5:33)
 So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is forgiving, Merciful (Sura 9:5)
 O Prophet! Strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.  (Sura 9:73)
O you who believe!  Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find you in hardness; and know that Allah is with those who guard [against evil]   (Sura 9:123)
And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then surely Allah sees what they do. ( Sura 8:39)
You shall prepare for them all the power you can muster, and all the equipment you can mobilize, that you may frighten the enemies of GOD, your enemies, as well as others who are not known to you; GOD knows them. Whatever you spend in the cause of GOD will be repaid to you generously, without the least injustice. If they resort to peace, so shall you, and put your trust in GOD. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient." (Sura 8:60-61)
Ground Zero
 
On September 11, 2001,  America went into a literal state of shock when Muslim terrorists commandeered  4 large passenger planes and used them as living bombs to bring terrorism to the country they called "The Great Satan."  One plane hit the Pentagon, another, destined for the same city crashed in a field after passengers fought with the terrorists and two hit the World Trade Center Towers, bringing America to a ghastly standstill as we watched death strike on live TV.
 
This place that we call Ground Zero, where we witnessed the worst kind of human hatred and the destruction of innocent life has become a solemn, sacred shrine to us,  a place that we can not let loose of, any more than we have let go of Pearl Harbor. Nine years later, we have yet to put the memory of watching people run for their lives through smoke and debris filled streets and seeing others leap to their deaths from flame filled windows.
 
Now, today, America is in turmoil again over Muslim demands that they build a mega-mosque and civic center in a building that was destroyed in the attack.
 
We remember the TV News clips of Muslims dancing in the streets across the world, even in New York City. We are people with long memories. Just visit Gettysburg on any warm Summer day.  Listening to incessant loudspeakers blaring calls to prayer from this mosque will be like shrieking  reminders of  September 11th every time they sound the call.
 
One of my sons-in-law did two tours of duty in Iraq. After listening to this youtube example, just picture that blaring from loudspeakers and replacing the peace and quiet and the sanctity of Ground Zero.
 
In the attack on the New York City Twin Towers, a plane's landing-gear assembly crashed through the roof of the Burlington Coat Factory, just two blocks north of the World Trade Center. It fell from one of the airliners that 19 Muslim terrorists had   flown into the Twin Towers that morning.
                   
Now, Muslim worshippers occupy it... and they want to open a new Mosque there, just a couple of blocks from the site where Muslim terrorists murdered 2,751 people in the name of Allah on that terrible Sept. 11 day. They wonder why over 70% of New Yorkers are opposed to this and why the nation is in such an uproar, when they a say that all they want to do is co-exist and create bridges of understanding.
 
Tell that to the Jews who took control of the Dome of the Rock during its victory in the Six-Day War in 1967. They released it back to the control of the Muslims with a strong promise and agreement  that the area would be a place of reconciliation.  It has been the center of turmoil ever since. I was at the Western Wall praying on one trip to Israel as stones were being pelted down on the Jews from the Muslim controlled heights above.  It has become a place of victory over the Jews to Muslims world wide. That is what I see happening here, with the Ground Zero mosque.
 
 
The Ground Zero Victory Mosque
 
Muslims frequently build Mosques as symbols of their victories over their enemies. For example, after conquering the Christian city of Constantinople in 1453, the Muslims converted the Cathedral of St. Sophia into a mega Mosque. After their victory in Jerusalem, Muslims turned the Temple Mount (the holiest site in Judaism where the First and Second Temples once stood) into the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In AD 600, the Muslims captured the Church of St. Vincent in Spain and converted it to the Cordoba Mosque. It's not a coincidence that Cordoba is the same name the Muslims want to use for the Ground Zero Mosque!
The source of funding for this controversial Mosque has yet to be revealed. It is suspected to be coming from wealthy supporters of terrorism. The Imam (Muslim leader) behind this project is a firm believer in implementing the abusive, discriminatory, and violent judicial system known as Sharia law and says he wants the US to become Sharia compliant.
I received a set of photos this week, showing Muslims shutting down main intersections of New York City for Friday prayers.  Can you even imagine the traffic nightmares this creates.

If these were Christians praying , they would be dragged out of the streets and thrown in jail.  But Muslims seem to be a protected group, able to do what they want, echoing the President's  statement that they are merely exercising their Constitutional right of freedom of religion.
 
Religious Freedom Coalition Chairman Takes Obama to Task on Mega Mosque at Ground Zero

"President Barack Obama's interference in support of the mega mosque near Ground Zero is perplexing. As chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition I visit the burned down and bombed churches in the Middle East. I interview the families who have had their children kidnapped and murdered in the name of Islamic supremacy.
 
"I am a personal witness to the double standard of forced Islamic domination in a large part of the world coupled with a demand for special rights fir Muslims that goes beyond tolerance in the United States. President Obama's statement in favor of a mosque at Ground Zero is in deep contrast to ignoring the plight of St. Nicholas, the only church destroyed on 9-11. It has still not been rebuilt because of government red tape. The President's jumping enthusiastically on the band wagon of the Ground zero mega-mosque was misplaced and equally ill-timed."

It would be a sacrilege to build the proposed mosque at Ground Zero.

"A place is made sacred by a widespread belief that it was visited by the miraculous or the transcendent (Lourdes, the Temple Mount), by the presence there once of great nobility and sacrifice (Gettysburg), or by the blood of martyrs and the indescribable suffering of the innocent (Auschwitz).
When we speak of Ground Zero as hallowed ground, what we mean is that it belongs to those who suffered and died there – and that such ownership obliges us, the living, to preserve the dignity and memory of the place, never allowing it to be forgotten, trivialized or misappropriated.
Location matters. Especially this location. Ground Zero is the site of the greatest mass murder in American history – perpetrated by Muslims of a particular Islamist orthodoxy in whose cause they died and in whose name they killed.
Which makes you wonder about the good will behind Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's proposal. This is a man who has called US policy "an accessory to the crime" of 9/11 and, when recently asked whether Hamas is a terrorist organization, replied, "I'm not a politician....The issue of terrorism is a very complex question."
His recent world wide tour to promote this Ground Zero Mosque is being paid for by our own administration in some sort of good-will effort to show our national love and respect for this people, of whom our president said have done so much in the development of this nation.  One stop-over was to visit with his Hamas buddies. These are the terrorists who are not only trying to kill every Jew in the Mideast, but who openly practice pedophilia and the abuse of little children."
 
During a White House dinner To commemorate the onset of Ramadan, President Barack Hussein Obama issued this statement:
"Ramadan is a time when Muslims around the world reflect upon the wisdom and guidance that comes with faith, and the responsibility that human beings have to one another, and to God.
"This is a time when families gather, friends host Iftars, and meals are shared.  But Ramadan is also a time of intense devotion and reflection – a time when Muslims fast during the day and pray during the night; when Muslims provide support to others to advance opportunity and prosperity for people everywhere.
"For all of us must remember that the world we want to build – and the changes that we want to make – must begin in our own hearts, and our own communities.
"These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam's role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.
"Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality.
"And here in the United States, Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been part of America and that American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our country.
"And today, I want to extend my best wishes to the 1.5 billion Muslims around the world – and your families and friends – as you welcome the beginning of Ramadan."
 
Ramadan/Islam and the establishment of a State Religion in the White House
 
 
I have a hard time with this, not as a conservative, but as a Christian citizen, who took his lumps along with the rest of Christian America when the President made a point of not observing  the National Day of Prayer at the White House because of separation of church and State.
 
Now, not only did he celebrate his obvious kinship to Islam but he held a White House dinner celebrating the start of Ramadan at government expense. He later went on to define doctrinal issues within Islam which was a blatant act of  defying  the purpose of separation of church and State.  It is obvious that the President has chosen Islam as the one Religion that is exempt from the law.
 
In this whole 'celebration' and  in  the face of gigantic national opposition, he gave the green light to this monumentally bad decision to defy the moral indignation of the nation and gave his Muslim brethren  ownership of Ground Zero.
